Rem Rebound
So how exaclty does the rebound work?
If i were to smoke a few reefers, then stay awake for a considerable amount of time, when I first went to sleep would I get hit by a rebound or an initial phase of rem supression.
basically a few of us are planning an expierment.
It invovles sleep deprivation and a copious amount of marjuhana, hopefully inducing a massive rem rebound
But i dont want to deprive myself of sleep, only to have the rem rebound caused by sleep deprivation supressed by the weed.
If theres anybody who knows a ltitle on the subject who could give me advice id appreicate that.
Please dont argue about cannabis here.

I know that smoking Marijuana can give an REM-rebound. About a week after intensive use and about an hour or 4 after humble use.
But I haven't heard of Sleep deprivation causing an REM rebound. Anyone?

Yes, your brain has to have a certain amount of REM. That's why if you don't sleep at all for a long time, you start hallucinating--dreaming while you are awake. And when you finally do get to sleep, you go into REM right away instead waiting like usual.

I no how my sleep deprivation will work im jus wodnering about the weed, im not sure how the rebound works, but ive been smoking itnesivley for the apst week and have now been awake for 36 hours without smoking.
So i guess I'll just leave it out until I go to bed.

If you're a day-to-day toker, or close to that, then I suggest you stay away from Cannabis for at least a week. The REM-rebound might show up after a day or 4, but don't smoke another Joint untill the REM-rebound returns. Generally it should take anywhere from 5 to 7 days of non smoking magical herb untill the REM-rebound shows up.
