Well, as far as I know, the strength of the Salvia experience depends on the dose. Only on higher doses you may forget that you took it, or your sense of self break down, and you become 'non lucid'. ( But remeber that each person has a different sensitivity to it, so you need to 'caliberate' the dose for yourself )
So in theory, it may be possible to start from a low dose, and increases it gradually each time.
Each time you can try to remain lucid, and ( again in theory ) this may help you practice to stay lucid in dreams.
I also thought about this exact idea lately. The problem with being lucid in dreams is that you fall right into the deep waters, there is normally no in-between state in which you can practice lucidity, and Salvia may help to achieve this state, and even control the level of the state by setting the dose.
The advantages of experimenting with Salvia for this purpose are that has a delusional effect, in that it can make you believe the experience is reality ( non-lucidity ), it's legal in most places, it's not toxic like other delirium drugs, and it affects you for a short time.
