I'll share my recent experience for introduction.
In recurring dreams, I can focus myself to levitate - about once a month or less maybe. I believed it in the dreams as well of coarse. When I told someone about the recurring dream (a week prior to), it made something click when I next had the dream. When I levitated in the next dream, I said, "I can't levitate, I talked about this, I'm dreaming" and I became lucid. I remember after this happened, I looked at the people in the room, one was my friend. I turned to him and said "this is a dream isn't it?". I could tell by the way he answered me after repeatedly asking that it indeed was a dream. I was allowed less than 1 minute or two before awaking from excitment of looking around the environment.
Well anyways, I'm going to start practicing the ideas discussed around on becoming lucid.
Needless to say, I'm anxious to do it again...I can't wait.
I noticed the other day, the tv was on an infommercial after I feel asleep, and I was dreaming about the verizon wireless internet card they were talking about in the dream.
This makes me think that audio is one of the best ways of telling myself how to become lucid since I can't really do it myself otherwise.
Does anyone here regularly use audio to become lucid with good success, who normally cannot? I'm interested in the actual audio techniques used to do this. For instance the use of in-depth lucid instruction, or just simple short words for easy comprehension. I was thinking, since I know how to levitate and have become lucid doing so now, that I could repeat on the audio to levitate. Or just say the word "levitate" every minute or so for 5 minutes. My problem is timing it into REM sleep while not prolonging the audio which (I assume) could also disrupt the dream.
My other question is about the Dream Maker or Nova Maker for becoming lucid. Are such devices worthy of doing so? Or is creating an audio clip my best bet? I imagine the lights with audio would prove most effective, but you people are the pros at this; I know so little.
Sorry about the lengthy post...and thanks for any advice.
