Coconut Oil and/or MCT Oil
Has anybody else here tried pressed coconut oil and/or medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil before and had it greatly affect the vividness or strangeness of your dreams, or your level of lucidity in them?
I remembered my dad telling me once after buying some coconut oil to take after hearing about its purported health benefits that he suddenly began remembering his dreams again which he hadn't done in ages, and they were incredibly vivid. This was some time ago. Fast forward to the present, I see my friend has MCT oil and I remembered from researching coconut oil briefly after my dad started taking it that the health benefits from coconut oil came from the MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides) present in it, so I asked him if it ever gave him crazy or vivid dreams, to which he responds "Oh yeah, just ask Sam (his wife) about my MCT dreams haha".
After that, I was determined to give it a try myself after finding my dad's half-full coconut oil jar still around in their house. My results have been absolutely beyond any expectations I had for it, almost mind-blowing even.
Not only are my dreams much more vivid, but rather be an unconscious actor in my dreams with a constant sort of mind fog, I find that I am actually very engaged in thinking and decision making while the dream is taking place. On top of that, I'm often almost entirely lucid/aware that I am dreaming from the get-go as often as not!
In my experience, this has been more effective at promoting lucidity and awareness within my dreams than my few experiments with galantamine, and without the stimulation that can often prevent getting back to sleep from taking it at times. Rather than kind of "forcefully" inducing lucidity like galantamine via its' direct stimulation as a result of its cholinergic activity, the lucidity from coconut and MCT oil feels much more relaxed and natural... or organic, if that makes sense. Like I said, rather than feeling like it's a way of inducing lucidity, it is more like a way of highly promoting it by making you much more aware and consciously engaged in your dreams. It's really quite fascinating and I'm quite impressed with it so far.
