Honestly, you don't need any of it. Using it now while you're (probably?) inexperienced will give you the impression that you cannot dream lucidly without it. I think a better solution would be to stick with reality checks and consistent dream journalism. One technique (that I have yet to master) that I've been practicing for about 6 weeks is all day awareness and self reflection reality checks, and recently I've been seeing the results.

One thing you have to remember is that this isn't a skill that will come with a few days or by buying some pills and a sleeping mask; if you don't have the self awareness to use those products, they'll seem useless to you and you'll (most likely, again, I don't know how experienced you are) lose hope and fall out of the habits like I did almost a year ago.

A couple of things I would recommend reading on this forum are the dream views academy, more specifically sivason's dream yoga class. (Dream Yoga (Sivason)) While this is a topic that takes dedication, reading through the lessons and people's responses have helped my self awareness immensely. While I have yet to incorporate the lessons into my daily life, I have noticed improvements in the vividness and lucidity within my dreams, even though I haven't been having lucid dreams on a more frequent scale than around once a week; but again, in due time; in due time.

Still, reading around the forum and working in various aspects of techniques that you can work into your daily life would be greatly helpful.
