Lucid Dream Radio!

So I had this good idea. An everlasting 24/7 internet Radio channel that 's a 100% devoted to Lucid Dreaming. If it was run by people from all timezones there could easily be endless day and night transmissions. Here are a few things to play on such a Radio Channel: -I think it's good to have alot of Lucid Dreaming related conversation. I noticed how falling asleep whilst trying to follow a conversation or talkshow leads to a very blissfull, emtpy and focussed state of being. From this zen-state of being the odds of having a Lucid are alot higher. -Also there should be ambient entrancing music. Every 10 minutes or so there should be a "Lucid Alert" of some sorts. Catbells gently ringing followed by a Deep, High, Whispering or otherwise "outstanding" voice saying "Are you Dreaming? ... Do a Reality check Now!" every 10 minutes? -It could use sound effects and ambiance to influence the DreamScape (example: Perhaps soft ambient tribal drummer and chanting in the background + Birds + Crickets + Monkeys + Watersounds = Jungle/Tribal related Dream?) -Perhaps there could be a storytelling part. Where stories are told that might also influence the sleeping listener's dreams. Not so much word for word stories, but more poetic, conceptual stories like: "The Temple.. The great Temple.. Where we come together... The Temple where we Cleanse ourselves.. Where we heal ourselves... etc" These stories could be guided with some soft ambient background music and sound effects. Anyone here got more ideas? Come on Lucid Dreaming People, help me put this together.

If anyone here can help me to an easy way of hosting an Internet Radio station let me know. I have plenty of self-made ambient dream tracks to play on such a radio station.

i love this idea. question: wouldn't it be possible to upload all this into itunes? under some sponsor (like dreamviews or someone else?) or even plain old "Lucid Dream Channel" --- then we could just download whatever got uploaded into the system whenever new stuff was uploaded. i think you can upload stuff for free. we would simply want to have a quality monitor of some sort to make sure the stuff was of decent quality, etc, followed rules re advertising, etc ... beachgirl

Yeah I guess it would be really sweet to have a Button, next to the Chatroom button. A click on that Button would link you to an online Audio player playing a number of different uploaded, online Dreamviews Lucid Dream Track-lists/mixes. It could be a streaming transmission that, if you let it buffer ahead before playing, will smoothly play without interruptions. These mixes should be playing lengthy playlists non-stop on repeat. If every day the Audio player would switch to a random playlist amongst the many uploaded playlists then there's an element of surprise to every night's radio. Also all the MP3's should have about the same volume(so one song/track isn't significantly louder than the rest and startles you awake)

You can either rent a radio station on a comercial server, or if you have a server it's quite simple to implement a streaming script. I've managed to find an open source script here: http://manas.tungare.name/software/whispercast/ I have a friend that is renting a webserver for his clan site, i've helped him with some of the coding so if your serious i'm sure i could convince him to let me set this script up.

Excellent. I have a couple of ambient MP3s suitable for Lucid Dreaming and I'm still making more. I was thinking we could also make some auditive verbally explained Yoga excersises: These can be done physically before bedtime during the day or in the morning, but also mentally, imagined while falling asleep in bed. Also some seminars/readings on Ego-dissolvance, meditation, here and now, peace of mind, mental clearity and focus could be played. Like lectures, or samples of lectures by people like Eckhart Tolle, Terrence McKenna and other speakers regarding Lucid Dreaming, Raising Awareness, meditation, Trance and enlightenment. Also verbal Buddhist riddles (AKA Koans) intended to calm and "stupify" the chatter of the mind could be played as well. Things that help raising awareness; selfmade MP3s or gathered samples from speakers, music..etc could be played on random shuffle from a large uploaded playlist of MP3s.

great idea. i dunno how to help though, but even if you could make the station you could only host it locally. in my town we have this radio nag place that people can go to and sign up for their own segment. but its not enough for the whole night

The broadcaster in me is intrigued (I graduated with a diploma in radio broadcasting, but I don't work in the industry, and probably won't ). Although, I can't picture how it would work to have announcers across the world have access to one streaming library, and there's just designated spots for our own cut-ins? Do we do cut ins? Are the announcers really just weaving the elements together or are you looking for actual break segments? Is there a way for announcers to voice track their shows or would they broadcast live while it's streaming? If it's live, how long would you want each announcer to broadcast for? If you need anything at all... maybe something written that you want voiced, or even a trial run announcer, let me know! I'm very interested! Do announcers for online stations need special mics (and by special, I mean, a better quality mic than a headset mic or something)?

I think it could be interesting; but you might have some disagreements as to who should broadcast on the channel and what should be broadcast on the channel. Also, how will this be funded?
