I don't know much about taking B6 outside of naturally getting it from food. |

This weekend I decided to try using b6 to enhance my dreams. Saturday night I tried taking 200mg (in the studies they used 250mg so it seemed like a reasonable dose) about an hour before I went to bed. Evidently that was too much because I was extremely restless and could not fall asleep, my head was so clouded with random thoughts that I could focus on my mantra. When I woke up the next day I could barely remember bits and pieces of my dreams, however the parts I could remember did seem to be very vivid. After about an hour of being awake I suddenly remembered an extremely vivid dream. Last night I tried lowering the dose to 100mg about an 40 minutes before going to bed and it was the exact same story: I couldn't fall asleep, I woke up with only fragments of dreams, and I suddenly remembered a dream after about an hour. I think my problem is because I can't focus on the mantra I wont wake up until the morning, so I end up forgetting the dreams anyways, would taking B6 during the day still achieve the same effect, or dose it have to be close to when you sleep? also any general advice on this topic would be great appreciated |

Normally I use a mantra something along the lines of "i'm going to wake up after each dream and I'm going to have a lucid dream" which normally I just recite that over and over and it will be the only thought in my head, and I just drift off and wake up between dreams. When I tried taking B6 my head felt bogged down with other thoughts and I completely forgot my mantra, I think its just the b6 keeping me awake |

ive taken b6 for a little over a week now |

You may need to lower the dose in that case. When I take 50mg I dont notice much difference, recall is perhaps 15% better. 100mg recall is about 25% better, but my dreams have a lot more depth. I think 100 is my limit, I done 150 once and didnt recall anything when I woke, I want to try again though, incase it was a fluke. |

I always take it just before I go to bed, and the dosage I use is between 100-200 mg. I never have trouble falling asleep once I've taken it, and increases my dream vividness and length especially. However it quickly lose its effects, even if I only take it weekly. I suggest you use it twice a month tops for maximum effect, and take it just before bed |

Personally, I found B6 to do nothing for me most days. I took it in a generic Costco muti-vitamin. |

I stopped using B6 for the last few days just to make sure it wasn't general insomnia. I'll try taking it right before hitting the sheets tonight, thanks for the advice |

My experience with B6 has been really great, but I think I'm doing completely different from you. I take a vitamin that has 104% the daily recommended intake which according to the bottle is only 2.6 mg, every night. I didn't have any immediate success, but after a week of taking it, I started being able to recall all my dreams in great detail, not just one but sometimes 4 or more a night. I've taken it up to about 3 months at a time every night and didn't have any trouble with it stopping working or keeping me awake. Maybe if the big doses are giving you trouble, you could try much smaller doses over a period of time? |
