I've been listening to the Gorillaz new album Plastic Beach lately. Today, I just couldn't stop being chilled out while out and about listening to Stylo. I was getting worked up over a bunch of stuff today in particular, and I just didn't blow up or let it overtake me. Not that I expected it to 'cause that just never happens with me, but today was laden with bad news, and yet I was chill.
Overload.... Overload.... Overload.... Comin' on to the....

Did yoga, for the first time in my life, today.

It was...interesting.

Got a show tonight, and started the day off with playing some Burnout Legends on my sister's PSP. Carnage racing is my favourite kind of racing. That's why I don't dig real-life sports.

I had a dozen people comment on my new haircut and how, for once, I looked dangerous.

Nice.

somehow, I wish I had become quite knowledgeable in the use of aluminum foil hats.

I learned a couple days ago that I'll be transferring to a university from the college I'm at at the end of the year, instead of in two years. Today, I realized that meant that my time with my band will end this December. That's sure a big time difference, eh?

Unfortunately for the guys, this means that I'll have to focus on school and work instead of band things.

After a pretty meh day, bordering on sucky, running on only three hours' sleep, I just got this incredible rush of . . . something, something good, when a certain person logged into Yahoo IM.

This sentiment irritates me.

Abusing the nature of expectation and convention by making purposefully 'wacky' or 'zany' or 'kooky' remarks isn't funny. It's prepubescent humour that comes after base flatulence, shit and urine toilet humour and before more complex deliberate and varied forms.

I like the everyday things people are saying here. I want them to continue.

However, the title of the topic does indeed differ from what you want it to be about, so either conform or make a new topic for what you would like it to be about, I'm afraid. Okay, random and odd....
I'd lost a magenta pad of sticky notes a couple weeks back after writing down some music ideas on it. I found it today being used as the bookmark in my copy of Slash's autobiography. They just went hand in hand, yet I didn't think to look there.

I watched that episode of the original Star Trek where Kirk fights that big slow lizard.

My older sister moved out of my ma's house, so I went looking for goodies, and out of nowhere I found these wonderful noise-canceling headphones among much paper, packaging and bags from past purchases, and candy wrappers/boxes. So glad I found these, didn't expect to find anything like this there!

Ok...so this was my day...

Told my job that I was going to be maybe an hour or so late, because I had to go to the DMV to renew my license.

Went to the DMV. Realized I didn't have my SS card with me.

Drove home. Got card, went back to DMV.

Stood up against wall for about 2 1/2 hours. Soon there were just two people ahead of me.

Suddenly, the entire line of clerks - save 1 or 2 - go to lunch. Another 45 minutes or so goes by before I was seen.

Got up to the clerk. Took my picture. Gave her my credit card to pay the fucking $63 dollars it now costs to get your license reinstated.

Bitch tells me they DON'T ACCEPT VISA.

Left DMV and went to bank. Can't get money from ATM. No cash advance. No debit. No nothing.

Went to work to wait for the checks to come in. Got hassled by my manager. Got check. Cashed it. Went back to DMV and finally got my license.

Went BACK to work, and had to stay late, to make up time.

The moral of the story is: I FUCKING HATE THE DMV.



...I did get some cute chick's number, though, while waiting around for my turn. So I can't say the day was a complete waste.

I ate icecream for breakfast.

A giant bald eagle swooped over my head and then circled around my block with 4 other huge eagles, then they flew away (Guess they found some food, lucky me I wasn't the food)

Now THAT'S the odd randomness I'm talkin about!

I discovered I don't walk properly (?)
I step first on the heel of my foot and then on the outter most part of my foot/toes. I rarely use the inside of my feet or toes.

I went to my first official larp today. I've larped with friends before, but this was much more fun. I played a 3rd level wizard for the first half, and played monsters for the second half.

About 20 minutes ago my computer went spaz.
All the icons, taskbar, windows, etc, went about 10x the size they're supposed to be and all the colours changed. I was on DV at the time and everyone's avators went blue or green...
I rebooted the computer and it made an ear piercing beeping noise that made my dog bark.

My son called me at about 5:30 AM on Sunday morning to tell me he thought Iccabah had her kittens.
When the rest of the kids and I got home, we raced to my bedroom to see them. She had them on my dirty clothes which were on the floor lol
I had my youngest daughter Zee bring all of them out so we could see them.
I had 6 in my hands but we still heard crying. She moved some clothes and found a runt. Poor dear was against the wood floor (which is freezing cold) and under a piece of cardboard (from a coke box). It was limp, very cold to the touch and mostly unresponsive.

Zee was upset, sure it would die. I got the kitten from her, cupped it in my hands and exhaled into my hands to warm it. I placed it with Iccabah and the little one tried eating and momma gave it a bath though she didn't want much to do with it at the time.

I took it back and placed it under one of my shirts (I was wearing 2) and kept it close to my heart. My daughter asked why and I said that's where a persons core temp is highest. We argued about that for a couple minutes lol.
After about an hour, the kitten was warm and started eating.
I think it's female and I named her Meerah (for "Miracle").
She's the loudest of the bunch! I took some pics but there not very good. I'll post them later.
