Thread: What would you like to happen after you die?

I would prefer reincarnation exists and I get another shot at it all. Regardless of how bad or good my past life was. I'd strive to do a little better every go-around.

But of course, it's impossible, and thus I don't believe it will happen.

I want a 'Best Bits' collaboration!!

if i did reincarnate, i would choose somewhere else...like japan or hawaii or something. somewhere that's not so stressful like America

after death, i'd like it to be like dreams. where you basically do whatever the hell you want. or somewhere i could just be in infinite bliss. maybe both

I don't have any particular wish or idealistic view on the "after life". I do not know what I am going to do, in the time before I have before another experience packet. Something productive I guess.

Of course I'd like to believe that the whole reincarnation thing happens and that I get to live again. Of course, I would want to be reborn as a human, but being a dolphin doesn't seem like a bad idea either. Oh well.

I don't believe that will happen, unfortunately, so I just hope for a peaceful after-life. I want to be able to find myself in my dream world, in other words, in the place I always dreamed of and is nowhere to be found on Earth. Somewhere way too beautiful, where I would be able to relax, not worry about everything, and spend as much time as possible with my loved ones. I don't like the whole "heaven" - "hell" idea.

If there was such thing as reincarnation, you couldnt try to be a better person or anything, because you would forget your past life completely. And this new person you are might not believe in reincarnation.

Cremated, stuffed inside a probe, and shot off into space.

If there was such a thing as reincarnation, don't you think the system it is in would make use of it? Such preserving the quality of the consciousness of the being.

It wouldn't matter if the person would believe in reincarnation or not, it would still happen, and the person would still make free-will choices based on intent, and thus evolve or de-evolve.

If somehow one would get caught in a belief-trap, the missed opportunities in growth would only be temporary, since at some point the person would "die" and re-enter again without those beliefs.

Hmm... I'd like to go to a paradise with all of my friends/family, and then you can choose to reincarnate if you get bored of a perfect life. If there's life somewhere out in outer space, I'd like to reincarnate on another planet. Oh, and when you die you get all of your memories from past lives back.

That's what I would like, anyway. I have no clue what actually happens, if anything.

What I am does not die. I'm one tentacle of a vast network/entity that ultimately encompasses all of existence, but even locally extends far prior to my birth and will not cease with my death. The best parts of my thought stream are millennia old and rooted in conditions fundamental to being human. Being is perfect as it is. That which dies is no more than hair and fingernail clippings wrapped around a bag of shit.

I wouldn't mind reincarnation, but I would prefer a Paradise. Which is why I'm Catholic.

Semi-related to the question... I once knew a guy who said he wanted to die by explosion. I was all like WTF???!! And he said that way it's really quick - no lingering suffering, and just before you go you get to see your guts fly past your face.

I want to come back as a ghost that can actually interact with the physical world. A good-lookin' ghost, too. None of that what-you-died-looking-like crap. I want to be in my prime.

And I want ghost-powers. Invisibility, possessing people, ghostly wail, all that. Then I would go haunt the crap out of people, live multiple lives through other people, etc. Most importantly, though, I would finally be able to construct my ultimate dream garden. The rarest, most expensive plants on earth. Common ones, ones nearing extinction...everything. I would also like to get a proper education in all sorts of subject matter...genetic engineering would be a blast, I think. Outside of time, I could devote my life...erm...afterlife to perfecting genetically engineered plants for my garden. My dream landscape would be absolutely one-of-a-kind. The strangest, most exotic jungle imaginable.

Being apart from time, too, I wouldn't have to start over at square one, as I would with reincarnation. My life experiences stick with me, and grow.

As for my body...dump it in the ocean in one piece. Feed the fish, eh?

I'm good with whatever happens.

If there is no life after death, I will feel no more pain and be grateful.

If there is a heaven, I'll gladly float around and spend an eternity meditating and exploring the universe.

If reincarnation is the ticket, I hope I racked up enough good Karma in this life to make the next one a little better.
