Does anybody have any experience with netflix?

My little sister and I watch two movies a week, and, naturally, I'm always the one who has to find new movies to watch. I am rather fond of the whole netflix concept, and skeptic at the same time, so I'm considering the free trial period.

Does anybody have any experience with it? Is it any good?

      My stepmom uses it.
We get a movie in the mail, watch it whenever we feel like it. Mail it back.
Within a couple of days we have a new movie to watch.
I forgot how much the monthly fee is.

Netflix is terrific. The shipping time is usually 2-3 days once they received the films you've mailed back, and they offer a lot of films that can be watched online through Netflix. I'm paying around $18 a month for 3 films at a time and unlimited online watching, and it's much cheaper than renting from a video store. They also have a much larger selection than my local video store.

Edit: Their customer service is really helpful as well. I've received two broken discs during the duration of my subscription, and both times the customer service has been great in sending me an unbroken copy.

we use netflix. we do the 2-for-1 where we get dvds mailed to us (very quick delivery) and we get them through unlimited instant viewing. it's a little more a month than the standard mailing, which is i believe $4.99 a month. we pay like, i want to say... $10 a month? i'm not sure. we watch a lot of movies.

I, too, pay $18. a month. In truth, I use "Watch Instantly" more than anything else (or used to before I moved out in the middle of BFE where there's only dial-up internet *GRRR*).

The only thing I don't like is the billing method. Say, I joined on 01/01/10 and my credit card was billed on the day. But, whoops, I have no money on my card until 02/15/10. When payment is finally processed, my account is still only active until 03/01/10. I pay for the entire month, even though I only used it for 2 weeks (give or take).

That is, again, the ONLY thing I don't like about Netflix.

The thing with Netflix is, you need to remember that you'll probably be watching movies as often as you already do. A lot of people sign up for it, thinking they'll be watching movies all the time once they have access to it. But the truth is if you only watch a few movies every month without Netflix, it's likely you'll still be watching the same amount. For some people, the local library might be a better option.

      Wasn't the case for us.
We very rarely watched new movies, maybe once every few months, but since we got Netflix we watch one just about every week.

What you ought to do is quit and then re-start at the right time of month. When I quit Netflix they immediately sent me an email offering me a ridiculously low price to re-join. Might be worth a try anyway.

Its definitely worth it. The online access alone is almost worth the price.

      hahaa, thanks for the recommendation.
I'm afraid I'd lose my Queue or ratings (etc) if I did that, so I never tried.

I LOVE Watch INstantly. I could go through 4 movies a day, easily, using that feature
