Such a beautiful system, evolved over millions of years to be perfectly balanced. So beautiful ;_;

I liked the mushroom that emmitted a net at the end of its stage tho! That was extremely cool :D
Thank you Planet Earth for your amazing timelapses.
Stellar.
no this was from 'the private life of plants'
it's pretty great. this was from the part on fungi... i think they're a little icky. there are much cooler plants out there :D .. fungi don't have nearly as many human uses or adaptations to so many conditions and terrains.
1) fungus is a kingdom, not a kind of plant
2) psilocybin. nuff said
3) some of my favorite edible mushrooms: oyster, king oyster, chicken of the woods, morels, chanterelles, lobster, maitake, shiitake, matsutake, porcini, hon shimeji, nameko, crimini...
A 2400-year-old honey mushroom mycelium in Oregon may also be the largest single organism on earth, spanning nearly 9,000 square kilometers and weighing in around 605 tons.
Just sayin.
taosaur.
i know plants are not fungi.
this video was part of a documentary on plants.
fungiphobe
can we find a common ground with lichens? :D
I loved that entire series...
This is amazing.
Cordyceps is really interesting. I remember learning about it in 6th grade.
I can testify...this is from Planet Earth.
Glorious
if it were from 'planet earth' you'd hear that woman's voice, whatever her name is... this british guy did 'the private life of plants.' either way, good series.
i'll be kind of confused if you're right though, CB xD
Dave Attenborough narrates the Planet Earth series.

(look at the description)
oh i didn't know that... i only saw the discovery version. regardless, that and the one i linked to are pretty neat :)Quote:
The original BBC version was narrated by David Attenborough and produced by Alastair Fothergill. For Discovery, the executive producer was Maureen Lemire, with Sigourney Weaver's voiceover replacing Attenborough.
Nice.
Yeah I saw this when it was broadcast.
The orange stuff reminds me of conway's game of life.
Amazingly beautiful
so awesome it creeped me out, gave me the heeby-jeebies and I just didn't know how to deal with it.. I love some fungi myself :)
