This is probably one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen

I've seen this before, but I guess I didn't really appreciate it until now:

      Such a beautiful system, evolved over millions of years to be perfectly balanced. So beautiful ;_;

Thank you Planet Earth for your amazing timelapses.

Starry starry night, paint your pallet blue and gray,

no this was from 'the private life of plants'

it's pretty great. this was from the part on fungi... i think they're a little icky. there are much cooler plants out there .. fungi don't have nearly as many human uses or adaptations to so many conditions and terrains.

      1) fungus is a kingdom, not a kind of plant

      2) psilocybin. nuff said

      3) some of my favorite edible mushrooms: oyster, king oyster, chicken of the woods, morels, chanterelles, lobster, maitake, shiitake, matsutake, porcini, hon shimeji, nameko, crimini...

A 2400-year-old honey mushroom mycelium in Oregon may also be the largest single organism on earth, spanning nearly 9,000 square kilometers and weighing in around 605 tons.

      Just sayin.

      This is amazing.

Cordyceps is really interesting. I remember learning about it in 6th grade.

No, it wasn't. I just watched this in the 'Jungle' episode on BBC's Planet Earth. Don't believe me? Watch it yourself.

if it were from 'planet earth' you'd hear that woman's voice, whatever her name is... this british guy did 'the private life of plants.' either way, good series.

i'll be kind of confused if you're right though, CB xD

Dave Attenborough narrates the Planet Earth series.

The original BBC version was narrated by David Attenborough and produced by Alastair Fothergill. For Discovery, the executive producer was Maureen Lemire, with Sigourney Weaver's voiceover replacing Attenborough.
oh i didn't know that... i only saw the discovery version. regardless, that and the one i linked to are pretty neat

      Nice.
Question: Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
      Answer: Neither, single-celled organisms did.
