What's wrong with lipstick? I personally HATE the stickiness and glossiness/shininess of lip gloss.. I guess some lipsticks can be nasty - thick, gunky, overly-pigmented stuff.. But not a nice, sheer, hydrating lipstick.

      Spoiler for lips example:

(FifthElement) decades of animal testing for cosmetics - not pretty.
For sure. A lot of people aren't even aware about this shit. I think some countries have outlawed it actually (certainly not the US though). I only buy stuff from cruelty-free, natural companies.

(Mes) In my perfect world everyone would be wearing dresses and painting their nails if they so wished, without fear of judgement.
      QFT!!

(Photolysis) the person underneath it for being so shallow and vain as to completely change who they are to conform to expectations from the mass media.
I agree with this completely. However, I feel this only applies to people trying to transform the way they look by applying makeup. Which is, essentially, what a lot of people do. There should just be a limit.. when you're applying fake lashes and lip plumpers everyday..things are getting out of hand. If you feel you look unacceptable to the general public without makeup on, there are issues! We all need to be comfortable with going out there without wearing anything.

Also, a little makeup goes a long way! It's good to research what sort of colours look natural on you. Blue eyeliner/shadow with olive skin & brown eyes is going to look unnatural.

I know a lot of guys might prefer it when girls don't wear make up and are more natural-looking, but a lot of times girls use it to cover up imperfections such as acne, scars, e.t.c. I would know, I used to wear make up to cover up pimples about two years ago, I was really insecure to go out without it. I'm all cleared of acne and everything now, but back then I used a specific brand of make up which my dermatologist recommended in order to cover up the acne, because I was just feeling really insecure about having people staring at me the other way.

Other than that, I do wear make up occassionaly. It makes me feel more comfortable and I've become quite experienced with eyeliner and such. I am not for heavy, bright make up, however. My everyday make up consists of: foundation, powder, a bit of blush in order not to look pale, maybe a bit of mascara and lip gloss. On special occassions or if I'm really into it I wear eyeliner and eyeshadow, but not all the time. All of the shades I own are natural-like, nothing such as bright red or bright pink or anything.

If I ever started wearing makeup on a regular basis, that's probably about what I would do.

Although no world is perfect, I wouldn't say we are too far off from this, at least in the part of the world that I currently live in. Maybe you just don't get out to as many drag parties as I do.

Probably 'shopped in the way the last few images up the contrast, or maybe the way the photograph is taken to increase the whiteness. Rather striking transformation though. It's a wonder how people feel the need to put so much energy into the way they look, sounds reasonable to others but I'll probably never understand it.

She'd look exactly the same but whiter. You have to remember that she's not doing a cute smile and doesn't seem to have hair in the first picture.

There's more than make-up involved in this case; she put on lenses that make the eyes look bigger (widening the iris) that are popular among Asian women. The difference b/w picture 1 and picture 2 is flagrant.

Oh, okay. I couldn't figure out how they made her eyes look so much bigger; I thought maybe they'd stretched it using photoshop. o.o

Looking at picture one vs picture two, though, I have to say that I rather like the contacts. Although she is smiling only in the second one, so that could make a difference.

Woman should wear make up. However they don't need to over do it and try to look like a slut to get attention.

I can't stand makeup. I'm a straight female btw, but ugh. I've never touched the stuff and I never will. I honestly couldn't care less what anybody thinks about my appearance and if someone's going to change their opinion about me because I throw some rubbish on my face then they can suck my balls. Anyone who thinks appearance is the most important thing is retarded.

I don't get why anyone wears it. I think I've only ever seen 1-2 people who actually looked better with makeup; it seriously makes people look hideous. I avoid people (ie everyone) who wears makeup because the only reason people wear it, is because they're told to, and I hate conformative retards. I get a bit worked up about this because my mum is a frickin' idiot and I get into arguments with her a lot.

In short, I'm the only person I care about thus I will do whatever makes me feel comfortable.

I take it this theme is "anime/manga" inspired? Wanting to have the gargantuan sized eyes like those cartoons have? From the upper left pic to the lower right one.. I just couldn't help feeling like I'm talking to a person in a costume/mask if I see them like that. I mean, a little can go a long way but widening the eyes, dying the hair, mascara, blush etc. etc. etc.

Make me a balloon animal and GTF out of my face.

I dislike makeup on women. For me. I think a girl is more attractive without her makeup on. I think makeup is over rated. I like women with out wearing any make up. It shows she has confintant in her self and she doesnt care about her looks.

If your in High School like I am. You see allot of girls wearing makeup trying to impress one guy. I think its over rated. The stuff is too expensive and I dont see how they can afford it.

      Natural beauty is over rated.

If you guys do really care so much for natural beauty I assume you don't wear any clothes that you like? You never ever use any hair products such as gel, wax, hair straighteners? Why even cut your hair?!?!... it looks more natural if you let it grow to your feet.

You do absolutely nothing to enhance your looks.

I'm tired of this natural beauty bullshit. It's not limited to make-up.

I personally don't care about the "natural" part. I like unnatural things. I just find it ironic that people would use makeup to a non-existent problem with a resolution that may end up terrible.

"OMG I am not pretty enough (though nobody gives a shit!)! OMG I KNOW! I'LL PUT CHEMICALS ON MY FACE! THAT'LL FIX ME!!!"

But I suppose it is each to his own when it comes down to how you fix your problems.

I personally only like makeup that's my color. I wear foundation that's my shade, it makes me a little bit tanner but nobody notices its makeup they think its a real glow and I wear mascara to make my lashes longer and fuller but nothing that sticks out majorly.

I agree. Natural beauty is overrated. If a chick really doesn't care about her looks at all, she'd look like a street bum. That is the opposite of confidence.
