Nope. But I've seen people mistake Boy George for Leigh more than once. |

In my school, there are girls who would look great. But what they do is they die their hair very blonde, then slap on tons of fake tan. That gives white/yellow hair and orange face. Not good. |

Beauty is perceived so wrongly... anyways, |
|
Unless you have a self with terrible skin, common around the age most girls start using make up. you guys seem to be slinging around opinions (from at least a majority of what I read on here) based solely on the assumption that all girls have flawless skin and makeup is an unnecessary add-on. I will go ahead and say right now that is a girl puts on the right makeup in the right quantities, she looks nicer. That's what it's designed to do. |
|
I define "beautiful" differently than you do, apparently. On a list of most desirable traits, appearance comes around at about fourth or fifth for me. I don't care about flawless skin...hair is more attractive to me. I also admire women that go without the stuff...it shows confidence and a sort of "I could care less about what you think" attitude in some cases, which I think is great. Just saying, when a lot of women are going through a period of rough skin, so are all the dudes. Having the appearance of flawless skin can be sort of intimidating...I honestly don't care about a few pimples. Maybe it's just me...I dunno. |

Well first off I never said I ranked looks above all else. In fact that has nothing to do with my post at all. But I do consider beauty to be a purely physical thing. I don't take into account personality, I don't take into account attitude (unless they carry themselves in a very distinct way), I just rely on the simple definition. And makeup in my opinion improves outer beauty. Just as it is supposed to. And such is the reason women wear it. If you can find a woman with good looking skin and hair that doesn't go all out on beauty products, that's fine. But if you see a super model and a woman with the same build but no makeup walking next to each other, who will your eyes be drawn to? |
|
You can tell so much from the way someone carries themselves, though. Makeup does, indeed, improve the way a women looks on the outside, but I factor inner beauty into the equation, too. So, in your example about a supermodel and similarly-built Average Jane, it depends. Initially, I may be pulled to the supermodel, but that option may quickly be dismissed the second I realize that I don't stand a chance. Therefore, I would likely gravitate toward the woman without makeup overall, provided she didn't carry herself in a certain fashion. |
|
Hehe! Exactly. But most guys don't seem to get it just the same. |
|
Dressing up is fun. I think I still have my old Care Bear costume somewhere. |
|
I personally hate make up (and I'm a girl). Too many people depend on their looks for everything. I mean, can people really not deal with themselves so that they have to put chemicals on their face? What the hell? |
|
Lolwut.
It seems like most guys like to say that they don't really care about makeup, but when it comes down to it they usually go for the girls who wear it. But that's just me living in my stereotypical high school world, unfortunately. I'm a senior, and the only times I've ever worn makeup in my life were to formal dances. |
|
well, yes. this is a great example. You don't need to wear make-up, but it doesn't make you look worse at all. Of course, the size and quality of the images is making it a little tough to compare well |
|
The problem in my mind is that a lot of women just don't know how to do make up. If it is done right, it looks good. |

In each of those pictures you remind me of a different person I know. Now that I think about it, one wears makeup and the other doesn't. hmm... |

Being fully aware of the air whipping by you, controlling every movement of every single atom in your body with a single thought. It's real freedom, and there's not a word good enough to describe it, so I'll just call it dreamy for now."
No offense, but you actually look sick in the picture with makeup. |

Lolwut.
I know you weren't intending to offend her, but I honestly have to ask "are you out of your friggin mind?" |

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but the color of her skin is so... saturated? It seems unnatural for some reason. I don't know how to describe it :/ It just reminds me of when my grandparents had cancer I guess. |

Lolwut.
I have to agree with you on the lipstick... I wouldn't want to eat that stuff. But she certainly doesn't look sick to me in the makeup pic. |
