It depends on the girl/woman and on the makeup.

Nor entirely true. A woman can care about her appearance without wearing makeup. Some just happen to value their natural looks, see no point in altering it (in this particular way) to look good in their own eyes or other people's.

I, for one, value my confort and health over my looks or what others may think of it.
I hate makeup because it's, I dont know... sticky or whatever and I can feel it all the time covering my skin like dirt, blocking the air, restraining its natural plasticity. It's like wearing a damn mask. It feels even worse with lipstick. How anyone likes to kiss that crap is beyond me.
On top of it there's the issue of what usually goes into makeup. For the most part, it's not the kind of thing anyone should rub on their bodies.

It's not always about men. I see a similar myth going around in regard to women's clothes and I can tell you it's mostly about vanity. It's about looking in a mirror and thinking "Damn, I look great in this!".
I may be wrong, but don't guys do the same?
