I am 19 and the highest degree I hold is a high school degree. I am living in the United States, where I was born. How the hell do I move to another country? I've done research, and it seems that the only real way to relocate abroad is to get a job invitation from a company which, lets face it, I'm not going to get any time soon. Does anyone have anything to say on this?
aren't there people who travel overseas to teach english...?
also, you could get a really cheap house in mexico if you want ;)
Try the Peace Corps. You'd be doing some good in the world AND moving elsewhere!
Go to uni abroad. That's like a step in the door.
If you can afford it, that is.

Several countries have visas known as "working holidays". They typically let you live and work in the country for a period of around a year. You can pretty much do any job that requires you to be "legally entitled to work in the country" as opposed to a citizen. I have a friend doing agricultural work in Australia right now. I know of someone else in New Zealand too.

Ya, same here CC. But what kind of job over there would hire someone who doesnt speak their language. Im still looking and i cant find shit. Ill google for a bit though.

Just talked to spart. He said that its fairly easy to get into korea, and a working holiday visa is easy to obtain anyway. So im guessing its no problem.
Yeah but working holiday is only for Canadians, New Zealanders, Australians, and the Japanese. Americans are left out. I don't know why :/.

Again I don't know how much this can relate to your situation, but it's more ideas, and that's what counts I guess.
Yeah, I've thought about this, but it's definitely harder being an American. I honestly wouldn't mind doing that. And in a sense, it's definitely really seductive. The only problem I have with it is the amount of time spent in each place, thought the awesomeness of essentially living anywhere and everywhere makes up for the lack of strong bonds you built over time.Quote:

Also, this guy was shit ignorant. He hadn't even finished high school. However he was Irish, so got like guaranteed jobs wherever there was an Irish pub. Lucky kind of.
But yeah, he never did anything requiring knowledge or skill. He was well built and a hard worker.
Of course if like you, you want a little morehigh brow occupation, yeah I'd recommend getting TEFL. Useful, and a backup.
Mmm, yeah, that is fucking awesome. Also I think I'll do TEFL regardless.
