A few minuets ago, I experienced an electric shock. here is how it happened

My computer's disk drive is not working. It reads certain games but not others. Recently I got dragon age... and it decides it cant read dragon age. So I decided that maybe I could put back together an old external dvd drive that i had taken apart over the summer to try to copy 360 games (before I realized that you cant run them without a modded 360.
Well, you see this is harder than it sounds. I just could not get the top on it. I did, however have the wires hooked up. So, out of frustration, I decided that I would just hook it up to make sure that it would work. So I put a cd in and turned it on. This was a bad idea for two reasons. First, I was holding it right next to the place with the power wires, parts of which were exposed. Second, the CD was pretty much laying in the spinner, it had no "popping in" type of system as it relied on the top of the case to help keep it in.
So I flip the switch and suddenly the disk starts spinning REALLY fast and it was quite loud. Now I started to freak out because I thought maybe the disk would fly out and hit me ( I know, kind of silly, but you had to have been there). I held it over my head until it slowed down. When I was lowering it, I wasn't paying much attention where my fingers were going and I was kind of fumbling with it in my lap, trying to get a good grip when suddenly my whole arm went numb. I immediately took that hand off. It felt weird and now my fingers kind of smell like they were burned.

Lesson is don't be had by frustration and think about what you are doing. Also, don't turn on an electronic without it's case unless you know what you are touching. My hand and arm are alright, and I think I will be ok, considering in elementary gifted a kid stuck a coat-hanger in an outlet and was fine. All that is visible is 3 little burned circles on my middle finger so as long as i don't die in my sleep tonight or something i will be just fine.
