I can't ever seem to see these things. Do you have to look at just the right angle or what?

Can someone explain what these are? How do they work, what are they, etc.

Heh. I was the last of my close friends who was able to figure these things out, when I was younger. I used to get so fuckin frustrated because I could never see them. I've just recently (within the last few years) been able to start making them out. Some of them are much easier to see than others.

They are like 3D pictures. There is a foreground and a background. If you focus your eyes to where you're looking into the background, the foreground (which is where you find the main picture) pops out at you. One you see them (as the saying goes) you'll shit bricks. Lol. It's amazing how these seemingly random images hide 3D pictures inside of them.

I love stereograms! I just think it's fascinating what one can do with a simple 2D picture... I can't help but wonder how someone actually came up with the idea to put two identical images side by side and diverge the eyes.

I used to not be able to do these, either. I just didn't grasp the concept, and one time I was in my optometrist's office and he had a few of these Magic Eye books and I decided to give it a shot again and managed to do it! Now it comes fairly easily for most images.

Actually, you can see stereograms either by converging (crossing) the eyes and diverging (relaxing) the eyes and you will see the opposite image. Traditionally you diverge the eyes, but if you manage to cross your eyes and see the image, what usually would pop out at you is sunk into the image. I have a hard time crossing my eyes with stereograms, but I've managed it and it's interesting... at least to me.

How much would you have to cross your eyes to see the image (keep the images on top of each other, directly side by side or one slightly above the other).

My eyes aren't seeing anything... but they're extremely tired and pretty useless right now lol

      **Edit**
Shift, is the second pic of what looks like the Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, actually dogs looking upward?

Hey, like I said- tired may be better!

Spoiler for answers to the images I posted:

What you'll see is that a chunk of the image will literally appear to be three dimensional and popping out of your screen. Generally, you won't be able to see it at all unless you can adjust your eyes. O showed it really well http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...0&postcount=21 . Those gray images show the 3d, but they'll be overlaid by the texture of the picture you can see normally.

*BAH! I totally suck at these lol
I see 4 perfect poodles looking upwards and to the left- each with a paw on the ground through the piles of leaves they're peeking out from

When I get tired, my eyes become extremely dry and itchy, which causes me to blink more frequently, which upsets the whole process just a tad
