Recommend Me Some Good Reading

I'm basically just looking for some reading material (books, preferably). I've got too much free time right now, so I want to get back into reading. I've never been a huge book worm, but I want to keep reading now that I'm out of school and hopefully turn it into a hobby as opposed to just watching TV or playing video games.

So anyway, are there any good dream-related books out there? I was actually recommended DMT: The Spirit Molecule by a friend, but I don't think it really has much to do with dreams (it is pretty interesting so far, however). Also, just throw at me any other "must read" titles and whatnot, or just plain good books. Again, I'm basically just looking for reading material, so I'm not too picky right now what it is about.

The genre I have most experience with is sci-fi/fantasy, so if you're into that stuff, I have a lot of recommendations.

Recently finished Ender's Game. Very satisfying read, especially through the beginning and middle of the book.

Michael and Kathleen Gear write some terrific ficticous stories about ancient Native Americans. There's a whole lot of them: "People of the Raven", "people of the wolf"; "people of the weeping eye" etc.
Jean Aeul "Clan of the Cave Bear" is another book I absolutely loved.

"The Taking" by Dean Koontz was really good too.

For non-fiction, I'm currently reading "Body Language" by Julius Fast and it's pretty good.

Dostoyevsky - Crime and punishment. (for those wondering, I'm still not finished, I have 50 pages left :p) It's really a great book, if the 600 pages don't scare you, that is.

Douglas Adam's Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series is awesome, I'm only on Restaurant at the end of the Universe though.

No, it's not about dreams - but it is about something much bigger, IMO. It's also not entirely off the subject of dreaming - it's about experiences one can have that are intensely real, yet happen in their mind (hmm.... sound familiar?).

I never was much of a bookworm either (always got the Cliff's in hight school :P ), but lately I've been reading materials primarily of the philosophical/metaphysical nature - so my recommendations are as follows: The Field by Lynn McTaggart, The Mayan Code: time acceleratin and awakening the world mind by Carl Calleman, and Everyday Consciousness and the Buddha-Awakening by Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche (currently reading).

Some may sound a bit 'out there', but like I said, I never read much in school and even I found these books easy enough to follow. So far the most challenging is the Bhudda-Awakening book, but it's less than 100 pages so I can go back through it again if I need to.

As for dreaming, Carlos Castaneda has written a few books about dreaming, however the few good bits of knowledge he has about dreaming are tempered with other practices that seem rather fantastic.

I have another suggestion, for regular books, however I'm waiting on confirmation that I remember the title correctly.

Anything, really. But good books for starting out would be Small Gods, Guards, Guards, or Mort.

If you liked Ender's Game, then you'd probably find Ender's Shadow (pretty much the same story, but told from Bean's perspective) and its sequel, Shadow of the Hegemon (which is what happens on Earth directly after the *>spoiler<* is destroyed) interesting. I got all three as a boxed set for my birthday last year. I haven't read anything else by Card, though.

Pretty much anything by Michael Crichton (may he rest in peace) is good if you're into sci-fi. Timeline, Andromeda Strain, Jurassic Park, it's all good.
