Because all Christians don't follow their Bible. If they did follow the bible completely, they would take part in evil activities just like the inquisition.

I fell the same way aorozco, I am a christian, but uhh yeah, I am still super rad right?! lol
if you say so buddy...
heck yes... lol
well it's not crap to me. and i do have the beliefs of the christian church, it does not make me evil cause the christian church is not evil but whatever, youre entitled to your own opinions.
I find it funny that, by forbidding these books, they actually assume the books have some merit here in reality. They don't seem to realize that magic and "the dark arts" and vampires aren't real.
Interestingly enough, the ones who aren't like that generally don't pay as much attention to what their religion truly demands of them.
If it makes you feel any better, someone stole my extremely rare Charizard when I was younger...Quote:
When I was younger, my school(private baptist) sent home fliers telling parents that Pokemon and Harry Potter are evil tools from Satan.
They took my Shiny dragonite card and threw it away ):
haha, well...technically, the definition of "church" is the body of believers. and anybody who believes!.....is a part of the church, so therefore, they are the church.
c'mon, I really find it funny why nobody wants to be Christian. just admit it, you want to have guilt-free pre-martial sex. because people think this is what is required of you to be a Christian is what's causing all this debate.
really stupid, when you think about it.
I want sex.... Even though I am a christian, jesus forgives and forgets right? lol but uhhh
For me, my religion is between me and god.. so What I read/do and stuff like that is ok, because uh I am only humman. But on your topic about the lady, you are right about that IMO ;D
i know that alot of people do want sex, and lots of it. i do to, but just not before marriage cause i want it to be a gift, something special between just me and the man i marry...
nothing wrong with that, I see it as a gift, too.
I just personally like giving that gift to more than just one girl, lol. (breakups DO happen) To me, sex is an act of love between 2 people who love each other, and it shouldn't be restricted to just "after marriage." If anything, marriage is a unity of 2 people who trust each other enough to have sex with each other. Just because you're married, doesn't make it right (for you, at least) and won't necessarily FEEL right. I know of plenty of couples who are unhappily married, especially right after that paper was signed, like it was a choice they shouldn't have made. If anything else, marriage is really a cultural thing, and I think it's wonderful. I'm gonna make sure that when I get married, it's going to be fancy as heck, cuz I want dat shit to be epic, lol. Plus, if I loved a girl enough to consider marriage, I'm going to make damn sure the marriage is larger than life.
I don't even necessarily consider marriage to be a required context for sex. I like to go clubbing, for example, and I will meet a girl from time to time who's smoking hot, and the little soldiers inside of me will say "Charge!!" and oh my god, I will be all over that!
But even so, I still see sex as a gift; it's something to enjoy, no matter what the context is. failure to see sex this way is what gives promiscuous people a bad rap. sure, I believe sex can be used in dangerous and bad ways, and that SHOULD be avoided, but people prematurely judge people who have sex often (especially in the case of sex with several people), transforming the word "promiscuous" into the word "slut." (it's really interesting how society only judges women who have promiscuous sex, but not men)
anyways, back to the previous topic, the reason why I made such a point was because I know that people like to hide behind the intellectual and scientific reasons why they shouldn't believe in God, when it's so obvious that 99% (the remaining 1% lacks a sex drive) really just want nobody to put rules on how they are supposed to live their life, which includes the issue of pre-marital sex. (which I can respect, honestly) but If God really wanted humans to never have pre-martial sex, he would have made it physically and well, cosmically impossible to.
but sex is only the main restriction that fighters against religion have. they don't like the idea of supporting a conscience that tells them that stealing is wrong, lying is wrong, etc...and if not that, they want to be able to convince religious people that it's at least OK to do those things when the situation calls for it. (but even so, religious people never cave in to such a philosophy, and nothing will change that)
for me, none of these is a merely matter of right and wrong, although I do indeed have clearly defined morals. I still have a conscience that lets me know when to feel guilty when appropriate.
really, it's not even an issue that bothers me much. I love having a conscience, it's what makes me human.
how you live your life is ultimately more important than anything else
wow. that was actually very insigtful. i agree with alot of what you said, and i don't restrict myself because of my religious views, it's more because i want to. u know?
wouldn't argue with that... lol
I enjoy promiscuous sex.
that's nice. i bet it feels good... lol
I honestly think not having sex until you're married is a really bad idea... Sex is a huge part of marriage and if you find that you don't like having sex with the person you married.... well... it isn't going to turn out well. I'm making it a priority to have sex with the person multiple times first before I get married. That way I can be 100% sure about the person I want to spend my life with.
I wonder if we'll ever see a MAA (Mother's Against abstinence)?
Marriage is an extension of a relationship. If it was working before without sex, then it suddenly won't break down when you get married.
Anyway, I don't have any feelings about sex before marriage. If someone wants to, then it's their choice. I have had sex, (and I'm not married, lol) and I really doubt I'll be sent to eternal hellfire or whatever. I'm not religious, anyway.
