      Being poor sucks...

Well, if this does happen, my electricity is going to be shut off today. It said it was supposed to be paid by the 8th, but I don't know if my mom paid the bill or what time it will be shut off.

I was going to re-add Haruhi and DearS to my mp4 player, but my computer got screwed up for some reason, and I tried to install my Zen Creative CD but somethings wrong with it and now mp4 player won't even turn on. This really sucks.

If my stuff does get turned off, then I can go down to my public library and post from there. This really isn't going well...

My life sucks and being poor sucks...

Being poor does indeed suck. Going into the kitchen and your cat begs for food and there is NOTHING. Nothing to feed him. You scrounge the fridge and give him the last piece of bologna, because at least you understand you are broke. The cat is just hungry. :/

      I know how that feels...

My mom should be getting an unemployment check or something, but I'm not sure what shes going to do with it. We were going to use it for school shopping.

      Yes, I'm 24, I SHOULD have a job. Read

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-24-...-wake_syndrome

      and quote wiki:

"Most people with this disorder find that it severely impairs their ability to function socially and occupationally. Typically, they are "partially or totally unable to function in scheduled social activities on a daily basis, and most are unable to work at conventional jobs."[13] Attempts to keep conventional hours by people with the disorder generally result in insomnia (which is not a normal feature of the disorder itself) and excessive sleepiness[14], to the point of falling into microsleeps, as well as myriad effects associated with acute and chronic sleep deprivation."

to find out why I don't. I get a disability check. 637 dollars a month. That's it. I have signs up all over town offering to do computer work for people, as they really won't care if I'm doing the work at 4am or what have you. It sucks, I've had jobs, they tend to fire you when you don't show up.

When I was 16, my family was squatting in a place owned by an out-of-state relative. There was power, but the well was caved in, so no running water. When we moved in, we had to chase out numerous animals, and there were several gaps in the walls showing daylight. There was a falling-down shed behind the place, which we burned a piece at a time for heat. We also tore down and burned a fence across the road.

Believe it or not, I kind of liked the place.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

Whether you live alongside the street or on it, life goes on.

There are millions of people that you could call worse off.
I'm not saying your 'problems' aren't the weight of the world, just that where you sit now, people have been and gone with their 'problems'. They have moved against what is and what was, and what may be.

You can strive after or away from; it is all the same.
You exist. Just being alive is a joy beyond money, but you are missing it with this fretting and striving.

Be with the ups and downs, just don't attribute them to so many things. Anchoring and conditioning is what causes the tension, so just be as you are and go with the flow.

My family makes money all the time, constantly trying to make more, missing most of the time that they actually are living.

Life isn't a struggle, it is effortless. The difficulty is with always looking back and forward, instead of living right now.

If you are reading this right now, forget yesterday and tomorrow. Just be as you are now and don't be bored or restless. Living is too often missed in trivialities.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

Actually, it might not be so bad to hate being poor. I don't mind being poor, and as a result I'm still poor.

If I'd started rich, that might be the case. Then again, I might not like the social and family repercussions.

As a kid, I've seen my family go through good and bad patches concerning money, so I have grown with a somewhat apathetic attitude with money. I tend to try to save, but at the same time whether I have money or not is not really a major concern. If anything, the more I have, the more it stresses me out...

Mmm, my family went through this awhile back when my stepdad decided to blow our entire savings, ten thousand dollars all in one night at a casino and then came home 3 in the morning piss ass wasted. We managed to keep our electricity bill paid, but that was the only one. We lost our cable, internet, phone, and nearly our house but thankfully our family all got together and pulled enough money to stop them from taking our house. While these times did suck, they were also a turning point for me, and I became the happiest I'd ever been in my life. I don't know why, but I felt like it didn't matter anymore, because someday I'd be out of that house on my own and I knew I'd never do something like that to my family, that I would work as hard as I had to in order to make sure nothing like that happened to me again. I guess I realized that I was in control of my life more so then anything, and that nothing was really that bad because in a few years it would all just be nothing more then a memory.

Luckily, after a couple years, my stepdad got a job out somewheres West doing electricians work, and he works for three weeks out there and comes back for one week, making shitloads of cash now, so we just bought a new car, a trampoline and a pool. So my point is basically, you're not going to be in this situation forever. It sucked at the time, but then it all somehow got turned on it's head and now we have more then enough money to keep our home and cable and whatnot. Hopefully your situation can go something like mine, and you start making insane amounts of coin.

Oh, and holding a job while you're in school isn't all that hard. The majority of people do it, I'm in the International Baccalauereate program (IB), which is a tough course that requires like 2-5 hours of homework a night, but most of us doing it still have jobs that we work after school, sometimes until like midnight, so we end up doing homework till like 3am. It's all part of the highschool experience really, it wouldn't be the same without it.

It has gotten to the point that having money just stresses me out. If I won the lottery I would end up doing something that cost 7 million dollars worth of damage/repair costs.
