Maybe that's because books don't have moving pictures...Quote:

i've always liked the predator... he just seems like a bad ass
let me guess how it ends... an alien bursts out of the predator's chest just before the camera cuts out... all this after the predator seemingly wins.
tell me how right i am...
if i'm above 75% right that justifies my hatred for movies like this.
As crappy as the movie is, I mut say that, no contest, predator wins. I mean, come on. His name is PREDATOR, which automatically places him at the top of the food chain. They hunt aliens for fun! Killing aliens is simply a game to them.
I'm not going to see the movie in protest of crappy modern movie makers remaking things.
"Coming soon: Teletubbies vs. Barney the Dinosaur!"
But seriously, the dogshit movie aside, I like the Predator, fighting with honour, on its own, with stealth and strategy - not in numbers and brute force. Both sides kick ass, I just prefer the Predator's method.
I'm not gonna see it cuz it just looks so.. ordinary, nothing unique about it.. just a bunch of overdone cgi. :P
So for sides, I pick.. mm, myself.
What I liked about this movie the most was that they did not use CGI for the hero shots of the Aliens (like in Alien Resurrection) or the Predators. It looks a lot more realistic and.. organic.Quote:

The movie did not follow along with the original story whatsoever.. but.. I was still satisfied with it and thought it was rather good, actually. Possibly a little predictable at some points, but still good in my opinion. I expected it to be another amalgam movie to make another couple bucks (like Freddy vs. Jason) but it was actually quite decent. I was surprised.
I loved it and am going to buy the DVD.

I loved the movie! Quite a few movies that ppl find stupid I like because I don't expect most movies to be 100% super-mega-fantabulious! Appreciate the movie for what it is. However, to each his own.
I sided w/ the Predator because in the 2nd movie I knew that the humans could be spared. Also, I like the theme of fighting with honor. With the predators there was a quick death. With the alien... Yah, I don't exactly relish the idea of a little creature bursting out of my stomach! :barf:
I also love action movies of any kind, as long as there's a limit to the sex and stuff like that which doesn't have to be in a movie, in my opinion.
It's also about what people are capable of appreciating in a movie. If you like dark gruesome movies with no meaningful plot, that's totally cool. If you're in for something meaningful and thought-provoking, this won't be a movie for you :)
Well from your reviews, it definitely goes to show that trailers are unreliable! :D Maybe I'll see it eventually.
It's not so much capability as personal preference. Sometimes I'm in the mood to read Frank Herbert, but that doesn't mean I don't read Douglas Adams from time to time.Quote:

I see...I guess I was just basing that off some of my friends...I have some who are hopelessly into the blastfest movies and who don't have a semblance of a desire for something more :-PQuote:
