Guitar Wars - Week 3: Cast Your Votes!!!

      Ok. It's that time again!!!

This week's contest was an exercise in original composition. Each contestant was to compose an original, 30-second piece on their guitar and upload it. Again, it didn't matter the genre, and multi-tracking is allowed (though we didn't really acknowledge it at first. Hehe.)

Now come on and support all our hard work by casting those votes!!!!
(Again: contestants please vote for yourselves to eliminate any chance of error)

I assumed layering wasn't allowed, but I'll definitely have more fun on the next one!

PJ! You get my vote again. I liked the blues feel, that was very good!

Joe and Oneiro were both great! Ramna, just not my style at all. O, it wasn't too bad, I just don't care for it.

Ok - I see no rule for having to vote for myself, so before somebody edits one in I'm voting TJ again. Reason - everything. I LOVE his tone, his feel... it's just a sweet piece and an easy listen.

Thank you!!!!! It was a lot of fun to do, and very challenging getting it 30 seconds. The piece wanted to be just a little bit longer. If I ever do a serious recording of it, it will have a bit more breathing room.

      **EDIT**
(Argh - I now see that O DID have that rule in there. I honestly didn't see it. Ah well - consider it a penalty for being a bit dense. And I'm not being gratuitous here - given the choices and my tastes, I really do like TJ's best again.)

Wow. I'm finding it near impossible to choose one here. They're all freaking amazing. I really like what Oneiro did with his layering, pj's was just awesome, I loved the notes, and O's was absurdly cool (though there was one moment where the layered notes were a bit off-time or something, not sure about that, something just didn't sound right for a couple seconds; not trying to dig on you O, it was great!) TJ's was superb again, loved the slightly country feel to it (to me at least) and Ranma's riff was super hardcore.

I'm going to vote for Ranma, because that riff was freakishly cool. If I could vote for the rest of y'all too though, I would.

No problem, man. I'm still a complete n00b, when it comes to composition, so I appreciate all the feedback I can get. Thanks.

I didn't do any layering on the lead track. It was just one take that I reversed.. that why it may sound "layered" but it isn't, not in my UK sense, anyway. A little trick that I nicked from one A.Belew.

I would probably have a hard time condensing something to 30 seconds, but you did a pretty good job. I always tend to play lengthen pieces and add more instead of shorten them, so I'd end up getting frustrated at myself.
