What is this all about? What do they think will happen?

I fell asleep watching the History Channel Special about this so...

a history channel programme about a date in the future.....

Here you go.

Every forum on the internet: the future home to over 1,000 2012 threads. i counted at least 10 so far on dv and we are four years away.

As for what i think about it? non-sence, just a repitative cycle like the zodiac.

I wonder if groups of nutjobs will drink poison this time around

was quite surreal when that happened in 1998

I am not certain but isn't that when Nostradamous predited the end times? And then the year 2000 people thought it was the end time and based that on no scientific evidence or any rational ideas just the fact that it was a new millenium?

I remember people assuming that computers would all screw up and everyone would lose their bank accounts or something, simply because they thought that the dates would go from 1999 to 1900. Oi. That's what happens when you get a bunch of bored people with nothing better to do. :P

I'm sorry I'm closing this, there have been a hundred threads on this already.
