Well Psychology student he is a Mormon, maybe they are generally more strict and can not co-exist with any other groups apart from Communism(it;s the reason for China technological push, he seemed to compliment them in that way of doing things, industry and all) and Atheism if it makes big bucks in countries America can trade with them claim are terrorists and take over their country. I'd like to see Chinas response, they do have the biggest army and to be honest they are just as big as a threat then America. Not sure if China still has conscription, but they army size and technological abilities are huge.

I really hope Barrack Obama wins, i like the guy and he doesn't go off on any religious and patriotic rants like some kind of paranoid schizophrenic.

Wouldn't suprize me if he were elected that the middle-east would rejoice with rants such as "We've won, we've won - we have our muslim in the White House!!".

Is Obama Muslim? I assumed either he was a relaxed Christian or was riding the whole God thing and was more of an agnostic.( you can not be agnostic or Atheist and win a presidential election, after all after that survey it shows Americans would rather have a homosexual or even a murderer as a president then an Atheist. They say anyone who is not religious can not swear to the pledge of allegiance all and so is not an American citizen.

I was in a debate with a republican and he thought that China was going to attack the US too. I thought he was just making things up, where does this belief come from?

Barak Obama belongs to the Chicago United Church of Christ, and why should it matter if he was muslim or not? I don't get that. And people that would vote for Barak Obama wouldn't watch the RPN (Fox News)

Islam and Christianity are both abrahamic religions, they are as similar is christianity and judaism. I don;t get why so many people dislike muslims.

I hate all of the ignorant people who don't vote for Obama just because his name rhymes with "Osama." Yes, I've heard people state that as a reason. Or even because of assumptions that he's Muslim and what not. I don't believe any of it matter.

Yet another reason why Ron Paul is the only person fit to lead the nation.

Oh yeah, a bit off topic, but can I ask some American political experts a question:

Why didn't Mitt Romney wait till Huckabee drops out of the race before he dropped out, because Huckabee's existence (being another real conservative) was draining votes from Romney (also a real conservative)? Without Huckabee it is percievable that Romney would have faired much better in the remaining primaries or caucuses.

Well the Communism bit was a just a joke about how Mitt Romney seemed to praise Chinas rapid rise of technological successes and general productivity in the last 100, for around half that time China has been communist, that is one big reason for their technological and industrial push.

But for the part of the sentence. I have heard Mormons are generally more fixed with their believes. What i mean is that the majority of Christians will accept a homosexual as a friend for example, or will befriend a Muslim even though their religions can be seen to suggest hostility between each other( only one being right).

We actually have a Mormon student in our six-form. He seems to feel very strongly against such issues as homosexuality and has no room for compromise or much in the way of understand, basically God says their disgusting, case closed. I

Well, you've got it wrong. I'm Mormon and have friends of other faiths, and gay friends, even though I'm strongly against homosexuality. We are firmly planted in our beliefs but that doesn't mean that isolate ourselves from everyone who feels differently.

Anyway, I'm happy to see Romney leave the race.

cuddely person there is exceptions to every religion. I have tons of mormon friends who are nothing like you described. Mormomnism is just like any other christian religion. You get weird religious fanatics in every religion. Being president is about leading the country not about their religion. I think its sad how everyone just focuses on canadits cause of their religion. Who cares if they are mormon or muslim or jewish? thats not what its about. We have freedom of religion. He's not going to go force his religion on us.

i dont agree with everything romney said either, but its not cause of his religion, its cause of him.

It's an absurd concept. Any country that invaded us would be nuked off the planet. China would nuke us too, but we would commit suicide before we let another country take us over. Plus, a huge percentage of our citizens have guns. There are enough guns here for everybody to be armed if we were to ever be invaded. Even if we didn't use nukes, China would be fighting our entire military plus another 200 million or so citizens with guns. China knows all of that. It will never happen.

I think Romney made that comment because he wants to put some scare into people. That kind of fear makes people tend to vote for Republicans.

Al Qaeda and such haven't been giving the best possible advertisements of Islam over the years. They're like, "We seek to kill lots and lots of American civilians in the name of our religion. Will you join our religion?" The average American didn't know what a Muslim was before 9/11, and now we all do because so many of them are trying to kill us.

Speaking of Mormons, they know how to be good converters. They air positive commercials and act friendly. That is how you convert people to your religion. Blind-siding a nation with terrible attacks isn't really an effective way to go about it. Now Islam and Muslims themselves are hated here. What a brilliant plan that was.

There have been times in history where Christians have killed for their religion too, we are no different than they are! I was jusyt reading the bible yestorday Where Moses was going to send an army at a city just because god told him too. (I was it was in Numbers somewhere, around 1:30 or something) Tell me how thats different than the muslim radicals attacking us.

Um because that was a couple thousand years ago

Just to give a sense of perspective, Romney poured tens of millions of dollars out of his own pocket for his campaign. I think the speech was his version of a temper tantrum. It's no excuse, and he should have known better.

Such rhetoric can only hurt his party, as it did in 2006, when we were all told, by the president no less, that voting for a Democrat was tantamount to voting for Osama bin Laden.

The Bible is just as encouraging of violence as the Koran, and Christianity has a history of violence that rivals Islam's. It might even beat it. However, the difference is that Christianity today is far less violent than Islam today. I don't think you fear that networks of Christians are plotting to blow up your city so they can screw virgins. I assume that when you think of Christianity, your first thought is not of large groups of people trying to kill you. I doubt you have ever gotten on an airplane and worried that Christians might blow it up. Most Muslims wouldn't try to blow you up, but the ones who are getting the most attention and making a name for Islam in present times do want to kill you. That is why there is so much hatred for Islam these days. I am not saying all Muslims should be hated. Aside from the fanatics, Islam is a lot like Christianity. Most of the members ignore the parts of their book that tell them to kill people for ridiculous reasons. I am just explaining the psychology involved in the prejudice.
