Thread: Guitar Showdown Anyone?

Hey guys,

I was just playing my guitar and i had an idea. I don't know if anyone would want to participate, but please do leave your comments or let me know if you want to take part.

Basically what will happen is that someone picks a theme, be it Metal, Jazz, Blues or even Folk. And then any participating guitarists will submit a recorded piece, whether it be an existing song or a made up one. And then the users vote the best one.

I just thought it would be a bit of fun with all the guitarists on here. If like people can submit videos or an audio recording of themselves playing then i think it would be quite fun.

I'm up for it and i'd be willing to organize everything, just let me know if your interested and if we can get enough people i will provide further details and we can get this started.

So if your up for it, just post in here to let me know.

I might be interested, though I already know I can't hold a candle to most of these advanced shredders here.

I'll put my songs up against anybody's though.

pj - great stuff, listen pj, at the end of the day everyone is good at a certain style, i'm not a shredder, i suck at it. But thats the point of putting in different styles because it will make it more interesting instead of people choosing what they want.

Please join in! Its about how well people adapt and play to the style, not if they can pick 1000 notes a second.

I don't play gutiar but I've been thinking on learning how to play bass. Think I should? I already play an instrument so I'm familiar with the all that stuff.

I never took lessons, but I play folk music a lot. Mostly Dylan, but I don't have a guitar here at school Maybe I'll bring it back after spring break.

Yeah. I was trying to get it re-started, a little while back, but it didn't look like we were going to have enough participation. If we can actually get it up and running again, though, I'm down.

I dunno. I was never really good at the whole planning bit. Haha. I just like to try and do the challenges that came up. I'd definitely like to get started, though. Does anyone have any ideas for a first event?
