Thread: U24 Asteroid vs Earth Jan 29

Got this off a guy on another forum

It's a little freaky how NASA, and yahoo have been deleting pages about this asteroid. Search for it yourself.

It's almost a media blackout. This asteroid is a lot closer than they thought it would be, and they're not sure exactly how close it will get. They were saying that it would be well outside the moons orbit. Now they say it will be well inside. It's path is almost parallel with ours so it will get interesting on Jan 29.

holy shit. it's not like it's some small asteroid either, that mother is the size of the sears tower. all though i doubt it will make direct impact with our earth it should be fun to watch in the sky.

I hope it hits Toronto.

This TU24 asteroid isn't supposed to come closer than the moon's orbit, but being a 300-meter asteroid it's observed as an extremely strong target.

I wonder if we will beable to see it...so just a few more days?

Lol you didn't find this on Godlike productions did you? That site is the craziest conspiracy theory haven I've ever seen. If a nuke that big hit it wouldn't be that big of a deal, it wouldn't have more than a few megatons of energy when it hit so as long as it wasn't in a populated area it wouldn't be that much of a problem, you'd probably just hear a big explosion.

There is this big popular message board for UFO's, government coverups, etc and you would not believe some of the stuff people post. Of course if it's true or not is another story but there are alot of "i looked at my watch and it was 10pm (or whatever time...10pm an example), i check again a second later and it was 10:10pm, i was abducted for 10 minutes", and stories like that. I was thinking of making an account and going "i went to this bar, and brought my alien friend drinking with me, we got hammered and he abducted a hot blonde".

I doubt you can see it. Although, here is a cool site which tracks satellites and some comets which can be seen without any fancy gadgets. Especially the Iridium satellites. There is nothing more rewarding then seeing a bright one at night. It starts of as one of those very dim ones, starts glowing untill it's the brightest thing in the sky, then it fades out again. It's awesome ... especially when you show it to a bunch of friends and say it's an UFO.

I'm from Mississauga, which is west of Toronto. And I'm on the far west side of it too. Although I was in Etobicoke today (Western part of Toronto) and it looked just fine. Well, as fine as Etobicoke gets.
