      Anatomy of a Black Hole

Thought this was an interesting little presentation. Mostly common knowledge, but I like the Flashwork that goes along with it.

Wormholes are theoretically possible. I'm sure humans will figure out how to use them to travel one day. If we survive that long.

Lately I've been doing a lot of reading and movie rentals on physics and stuff like this - I'm not exactly sure how it started, but this special I saw on PBS a while back definitely sparked my interest. I recommend it to anyone with even the slightest interest in science (I'm in the process of trying to get a copy of it for myself).

Anyway, the special was called "The Elegant Universe" and you can actually watch it for free online. I mention this because in one of the sections they cover black wholes, worm holes and how they can be used to bend space, etc. The 3D animation is outstanding (I know you'd definitely appreciate it, O!

I just watched the first chapter, and must say this looks like an amazing series. I definitely need to find the time to watch all of this.

I remember hearing about The Elegant Universe. I'm definitely going to check it out, now that you've reminded me. Thanks, TJ!

That's an amazingly good and easy to understand presentation.
I'm saving that for next time someone randomly asks about black holes. It happens to me more often than you'd think. Folks think I'm smart round here and ask me all sorts of odd things. Little do they know...

      Hey O,

I came across these two web pages while researching something and thought you might find them interesting. The animations themselves are simple but illustrate their point pretty well.
