pick a number from 1-10- what do you visualize?

If somebody asked you to pick a number from 1 to 10, do you visualize anything (assuming that you don't pick on a whim, rather you think about it for a while)? For example, if somebody asks me to pick a number, I (subconsciously) visualize a number line, going from 1, 2, 3,... 9, 10, then I choose a number from that number line. Is this what everybody visualizes (again, not on a whim which you just spit out a number, but if your survival depended on choosing a certain number), or do some people visualize a number-pad (right side of your keyboard) or maybe visualize backwards, 10, 9, … 2, 1?

PS: This is for an important project, please answer after thinking through.

I don't actually "visualize" much. Rather, I try to imagine what number that person is thinking and it usually works. Not over the internet though, so don't try me. I'm pretty good at reading minds to a little extent like that. I don't think any images pop up in my head though, besides the number I decide on.

      I'm different.

I don't visualise anything, I just think of a few numbers before settling on one of them, I try to make my answer as random as possible (lol, that obviously doesn't work out too well but shmeh),

The image of a number spontaneously pops up in my mind. If it's bigger number I think it up in parts (1..3...2, 132).

I normally visualise numbers in a thick, silver font on a transparent background (i.e. what I can see). Sometimes the numbers would have a rocky texture. I don't imagine anything like a number pad though; I just pick a number without any visualisation of picking one.

I don't get anything when I'm try and pick a random number, however different numbers always have different feelings for me.

Number 8 feels really... whole and well formed

3 seems a more practical number, like it's used in many different things.

Those are two of the strongest ones. Also, when I add numbers together I have a little system. I'd be interested to know if anyone else does this.

eg. If I were to add 8 and 5 I would do this:

      8 + 5 = ?

      8 + 2 + 3= ?

      (8 + 2) + 3= ?

      10 + 3 = 13

When I was younger I always had trouble remembering the 3 x table, it always felt really squashed together and the numbers kept switching places, as if they didn't know their places. So when I next tried to learn them I imagined that they were really spread out and clear and each knew it's place; and it worked! I've never since had any problems with multiplication tables.

As far as I'm aware, I think it helps me understand maths better as I've always been fairly adept at it.

      I must be boring.

I just pick one. No visualisation at all. No choice. 7. 4. 8. 3. Instant and blind.

Usually I just visualize a voice saying the number.

(Is that even possible to visualize a sound?)

Starry starry night, paint your pallet blue and gray,
Look out on a summers day,
with eyes that know the darkness of my soul.

For me it's a number line with 1 on the right and going to the left towards 10 but as I get up to around 15 my point of view is like looking from behind 1 towards 10 and then when I get to 30 my point of view is as the numbers get bigger they go up and to the right. They are usually black and tiny, almost indistinguishable until you pick one. When I hear a number it is visualized in an approximate area.

Sometimes with 1-10 the perspective is other places such as going left to right like a number line. Numbers are 3D too and all about the same size. My perspective changes almost like a camera on a large half circle behind the number 1. (Imagine an arrow pointing down but instead of a V shape its more of a half circle that my perspective swivels on with the numbers being the vertical line of the arrow. The numbers don't go up vertically, only on a gentle incline.) 7 btw is a very sleek number. I was just thinking about this kinda stuff the other day in math class, seems to always happen. I'll be thinking about something and then someone will make a topic about it.

I just always pick 3. Since there is no way for me to tell which number it actually is, 3 has just as much of a chance of being correct as any of the others, no matter how important it is. 3 just happens to be my favorite number.

If I had to choose a number besides 3, I choose 7 everytime. Besides 3 and 7? Hmm. I visualize a black background with white or light gray numbers, 1 to 9, left to right, with 3 and 7 missing. 12 456 89. Then I just pick one from the middle of the largest group of numbers...5. For some reason I don't visualize 10 in there. It's just kinda off to the side, invisible like 11 and 12, because I'd never pick 10.

I pick four and I visualize four of a random object. Four pennies, four Skittles, four labs I need to get done by tomorrow.

Usually when I think of a number under 10 I visualize that number in objects (random objects, usually ones that I have around). When picking the number I think of a table.
