      Talking Your Harry Potter Wand

Lisa's thread in senseless about Chris using a wand reminded me I wanted to start this thread.

What would your wand be? Wood, length, core. There are some cool websites that give good descriptions of the different elements, I'm just too lazy to link to them at the moment, so if someone else wants to...please do hehe.

Mine is Rosewood (I wanted Ash, but Rosewood was what we got at the craft store), Unicorn Tail Core, 8.5" ...very strong, for the pure of heart, a bit stubborn, excellent for spells and jinxes.

Rtex was here just last week and we both started making our wands. They totally kick ASS. I'm going to have to take a picture of mine when it's completely done. We're going to finish them when he comes back up here in a few weeks.

Burns, you need to make a wand. Or I could make one for you. We found these awesome 10" dark rosewood knitting needles at the craft store to use as a base, sanded them down, etc. Rtex found a really cool resin talon and used my clay to mold it into a really kick ass handle for a hippogrif talon core. How cool is that? Yes we're total dorks and love it!!!

edit: p.s. I feel naked now if I'm not carrying my wand around with me! Haha...

Ebony. 9" long, tapered but otherwise unembellished. Hydrogen core. Leather tip so it can double as a short cue stick in tight situations.

(Yeah, so I designed my own.)

For those who are totally clueless:

This is a great very involved quiz:
      http://www.unfading.net/wsinfo.html

And this is a simple quiz:

      K... now it's maple w/ unicorn hair.

Canadian maple, and I'm still putting a leather tip on it.

This wand is calm and precise, though somewhat cold. Good both for charms and transfiguration. Indicates owner's high abilities in divination. Show excellent results in invoking images of the past and memory-strenghtening spells. Not suitible for dark arts.

Yeah, I don't really like those quizzes too much...which is sort of why I decided what my own wand would be. I know that the wand is supposed to choose the wizard hehe, but yah know...oh well.

That first one quoted me as having a wand of cedar with a core of dragon's heartstring.

Cedar is an all-purpose tree and can be used in various magical and occult practices, but primarily for protection against evil influences. This wood strengthens your spirit, calms unnecessary passions and increases resistance. In addition to that, cedar is also used for achieving prosperity as wealth, and can help in gaining respect and recognition.

Keywords: Generosity, Fairness, Noble Origin, Prosperity, Wealth, Steadiness, Resistance, Inner strength, Wise ruler in the time of peace, Guardian, Protection from evil spirits, respect and recognition.

Wand description: Very strong and steady, somewhat hard and inert. This wand is good mainly in the aspects of magic arts that suppose dealing with the material structure of objects, e.g. transfiguration (though it lacks preciseness a little). Aside from that, it is very powerful protective wand; it does well both in attack and in defense. May indicate owner's noble origin or old family tradition. Not suitable for dark practices.
      For the other:

Your Score: 9 3/4", Oak, Phoenix
You scored 36 wisdom, 27 bravery, 15 emotional, and 33 martyrdom!

Oak signifies wisdom, endurance, protection, and authority. The phoenix tail feather as your core means that you have the capability to be an extremely powerful wizard or witch and that you will defend those you love at all costs.
I saw a site that was more in-depth, but I'll have to see if I can find it again.

On the Greenoaks wand selector I got a Birch wand with a unicorn hair core, while on the other selector I got a 9" willow wand with a dragon heartstring core

I won't bore you with the analysations

      Your Score: 10", Willow, Veela
You scored 42 wisdom, 33 bravery, 26 emotional, and 11 martyrdom!

A willow wand signifies that you care deeply about emotions, art, and intuition, and that you have a particular knack for charms. The veela hair as a wand core means that you are slightly unpredictable but very powerful.
      Did the second one.

Man, I bet we would all be awesome wizards. With our freakin' sweet wands and willingness to lean awesome spells and whatnot. We could be an entirely new house of Wizards and Withces, something along the lines of the "Phoenixcall" or "Spiritflight" House.

Our book would have a totally boss title like "Harry Potter and the Forgotten Dreamers". Or something like that.
The best times of your life should not be when you're still so young, or else you'll live a life always dreaming of the past.
