NASA Opens Space Shuttle Ride for the Earthbound

Ok - here's one for you. It is of special interest to me because it explains a sudden spike in property values around our northern retreat - which is 22 miles from where this is happening. There have been rumors for over a year... but in struggling small towns, rumors of something that's going to save everybody are not uncommon. This one seems to be real:

I know someone who is protesting there. Pretty funny. They actually build an 12-km fence around the place to keep all the thousands of protectors away from the kings of the world deciding for that world they control (without any constitution or democratic process giving them the right to get together and decide).

Here's one that has my attention lately:

Sleeper Lake Fire in Michigan's Upper Peninsula

29 square miles continue to burn. Thankfully it is almost entirely uninhabited, which tells you something about the U.P. That's nearly 19,000 acres.

It is about 50% contained now. The don't expect it to be fully contained until some time in September. It is one of 22 fires now burning in Northern Michigan.

New developments in the story tell that the pilot did not survive the crash.

The kid behind the "attempted" Gumby Robbery was interviewed by one of our news stations. He said that he likes dressing up in those kinds of costumes and walking around but the guy working behind the counter said he was trying to rob him. He just goes on saying it was just a joke, and how he was misunderstood by the cashier.

In a way I kind of feel inclined to believe him since he didn't have a gun and his friend wasn't covering his face. But you never know I guess. I've been involved in a joke before that got me in trouble, except mine didn't make headlines.
