I seen about the same thing. But with 'NAME A TOOL!'. People often tended to say 'red hammer'. I think the little math has nothing to do with that. I mean, screwdriver is a to long a word...

My fiance tried it too, and the same thing happened to him. He blurted "Carrot" and then he was like, damn it....He thought that it was cool though.

G'damnit. I said "Tomato!" not realizing that tomato was actually categorized as a fruit.

Potato + carrot have 6 letters, as does hammer (dunno about the red bit )

potatos are tubers, and this trick also works with the number 14. but i think thats because people associate 14 with carat instead of carrot.

I had a complete brain fart at the end and thought "what the hell is a vegetable? That's not a math problem!" then an image of a big green head of broccoli popped into my head. That 98% thing doesn't seem to apply to this (non-representational) sample of the human population, at least. Who originally did the study to come up w/ that stat?
