I estimate thousands of years. Humans have only ever completely eliminated 1 infectious disease that affects humans: smallpox, and that disease only affected humans. This coronavirus affects animals too, making it much more difficult to completely eliminate than ones that only affect humans. Completely eliminating this coronavirus would require eliminating the virus not only from every single human in the world, but also every single animal in the world this virus lives in that humans may come in contact with.

Provided that the virus actually exists as an independent organism (alternatively, it may be that several other viral diseases are being misclassified as corona), I believe that governments will want to keep it around for as long as possible. However, the way people are currrently being herded by these governments, I expect a massive backlash from society, at the end of which the governments will be displaced. Subsequent governments are then likely to treat the corona virus like any other virus, and then no body will care much about it any more. But, for sure, the times we currently live in are unusually volatile, so anything could happen.
