Hello.

I can relate to this. The site feels a lot lonelier now than it used to be 2-3 years ago. It's kinda sad, but i guess it's a natural result of time passing by. I don't come here a lot either, just logging in every now and then, hoping to see some activity.. I used to come here and discuss or read a lot of stuff but now it's just not there anymore. Maybe i lost my drive or maybe i feel this way because of my depression. Either way, things will probably stay like this. It ultimately saddens me to see everyone leaving or walking out of the site, because a lot of the enjoyment i had browsing was because i felt like i wasn't alone in this journey.

The fire may not be blazing for the time being, but as long as there is at least a spark, a roaring fire may still arise.

There is a spark, and it's not going away.

Yeah... posts and activity ebb then flow a lot. BUT, it's Winter. There should be a LOT more activity now.
It's a bad sign that the site is as quiet as it is right now.

I agree. I remember when I was new here and the place was on fire. It seems pretty desolate now.

Haven't posted in a few years myself. I don't use social media, but always liked Dreamviews. I got so wrapped up in my own world I forgot it existed.

Forums in general are not as popular as they used to be. It is a shame as I always thought forums were the "best" form of online communication. Anyhow, I'll try to make a point of sticking around. I am glad to see some of my favorite posters are still here.

Every time I go to a forum I find people talking how sad it is now and how fun it used to be, what's wrong with me, why am I always late?

Your parents simply didn't meet early enough.

On the other hand, you could be part of the change to bring back torrents of intelligent debates across this place, and other forums around the web. One person in the right place at the right time can make a world of difference.

You know, if we were to put an apple down, and leave it, it would be spoiled and gone in a few days. But, if we were to take a bite it, it would become part of us, and we could take it with us, forever.
Everything is on its way to somewhere. Everything. A forum is probably no different.

Maybe it's just that forums are going out of activity as the years go by. I also have a niche hobby but by the time i picked it up most of the fun stuff had already been over. It's just luck, but you never know what may happen later on.

Maybe. But for someone whose life has gotten worse over time it, it became an everyday thing to be nostalgic or sad about times when life was better. Even if those times were associated with a livelier forum being one of those good things. But this isn't about me anyway, so there's no need to elaborate any more than that.

Forums are pretty awesome. I've always enjoyed them. It's great how they exist for niche communities of people and the organization aspect is pretty cool too. It is conducive to good conversations that can lead somewhere where people can take their time to respond. Hopefully this one stays alive. It is sad to hear the community has dwindled :/ It's hard to find a good balance. If something gets too big (like Reddit some would say) it can change for the worse. So at least that hasn't happened here, I suppose.

I was lucky enough to work for the Butch Hartman official online forum, which was his site before he moved his stuff to YouTube, FB, Twitter, and Instagram. This place kind of reminds me of that site but, it was a bit more stricter than this forum. So, I had a lot of memories. I was asked by the staff to be a staff member for that site until it was closed down in 2014.

Then I found myself on a Dream site that had no structure and they would literally attack each other. So, what could be worse, having a slow forum or a forum that was full of people who troll and stalked you? Plus they never had any insight on how to lucid dream. I mean sure it is depressing when you post something and no one replies to your thread but, look at the bright side, at least it's better than having some spam artist ruin it for everybody. (IMO) Who knows if this place is going to be like it was but, I think it's up us to not give up. Also, what is good about this place is that you can do your own research about topics, you don't have to rely on other people replies.

That's very true and in a way that's what I was trying to get at! Though I am new to Dreamviews, I have so far enjoyed the sense of community I've found here. And yeah, there certainly are worse alternatives than slowed traffic. And yeah, we'll just have to keep posting!

5 years pass and still low-key obsessed with lucid dreams

What we need is a technological breakthrough that allows super busy people to LD. That will bring this site back to its former glory

Well said. It is far better to be alone than in bad company, and there is a huge amount of information here. Many great threads have been posted over the years; you just have to know where to look. You can still get lost for hours reading through some of the more insightful discussions.
