The new Ipad Air commercial inspires me to do the opposite of buying an ipad >.>

This is probably the wrong section for this thread but have you guys seen the new ipad air commercial?

Now I don't know about you, but this commercial actually makes me feel less desire for an ipad than if I hadn't seen it. It inspires me to do a lot of things, none of which involve staring at a rectangle.

First time I saw it. I'm so out of the loop, but I'm surprised their still using the advertisement tactic common with touchscreen devices of showing people in random situations sliding their fingers across a screen, as if there's so much worthwhile stuff to be checking up on and doing with a computer while skiing, playing hockey, or performing during halftime.

But my only interest in these tablets is for ebooks and magazines. My paperwhite handles the ebooks fantastically, but viewing PDF files on it horrendous...

Exactly, almost no one purchasing an ipad is going to use it for any of the activities shown in the commercial. People with ipads mostly sit at home or at a cafe reading and playing games and stuff.

The Walt Whitman quote is practically a kill your television quote, on top of that.

I haven't touched an Apple product since 2010 when they burned me. Android has been EXTREMELY awesome to me.

At least this means the previous version will have a lower price...I could really use one, hate running around with the laptop.
But yeah, Apple needs to wake up regarding commercials, it's like they don't know who their product is meant to target

I love androids, but I would love an ipad because I watch a lot of videos and need something with great visuals

Edit: here is why the laptop is so handy(cyberlink power dvd 10), and it has better gaming and more comfortable internet surfing

Huh? Android and iOS use the same codecs, and Android screens are usually higher resolution.

Screw i crap. They are trying to brainwash you buy their stuff like everyone else even though 90% of the things you can do with it are pointless. People are like distracted 24/7 glues to their phones. Why don't you look up and experience the world around you? Everyone has ADD now days I wonder why. That's why I like the ipad commercial, it inspires you to put down you iphone/ipad and go do stuff and experience life. If it's trying to brainwash me into buying one, it's not very effective.

That video was really inspiring. I just want to shut down my computer right now and go for a walk and enjoy all the beautiful things the world has on offer.

One thing I don't want to do....buy an expensive ipad. I mean, I could spend all that money on skiing or skuba diving, just like the video told me to do.

Just knowing it's an advertisement is enough to prevent me from feeling anywhere near inspired. Even if it wasn't... idk. The guy's voice just sounds like he's trying too hard to elicit emotion. I find it kind of irritating.

If Peter O'Toole or Jeremy Irons had said it at the beginning or end of some epic movie, you'd have eaten it up. I know the reaction though, at first when I saw it I was so jaded, so put off that Apple would try to illicit emotion, try to grasp my heart strings and strum them to the beat of their consumerism. Then I giggled because I realized the emotions strung created such an opposite direction for my inspiration, it was okay. I didn't feel any impulse resonate at all to buy an ipad. I'd never heard a piece of Whitman's Leaves of Grass read aloud and frankly I always found the book a little overrated. Now I feel like it's worth reading again.
