Thread: What does your username mean?

I wanted a nickname that wouldn't give away who I was to someone on here (I usually use one with my cat's name in it) and I decided I was thinking quite hopefully and wishing to lucid so I decided on Wishfulthinker.

Mine's the first letters of each of my names

Astrosomnia = two of my favourite things - "Astro", as in stars, space and the universe, "Somnia" as in dreaming. So, "Space Dreams". Seemed pretty self-explanatory while still sounding badass. Admittedly it's probably my favourite username I've ever had.

There are a couple, one by Verdi and one by Thomas. The latter is the french version, most noted for Ophelia's mad scene. Natalie Dessay is a french phenom who sings the living daylight out of this scene. Natalie's stratospheric high notes really depict the madness within Ophelia's character, just another typical female pawn of her age with no control over her own life. The self-cutting is particularly intense.

Edit: you know, I saw Miss Dessay perform Zerbinetta in Richard Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos at the Met back in May of '03. She is only about 5'1" or 5'2", and those pipes of hers carry over that full scale orchestra to the farthest reaches of the opera house. It's truly something to behold, I wish everyone could hear her live.

My name is just one of my favorite hip hop albums that i thought had a cool name, had to misspell it though because midnight was too long.

I like the sound of it and have been using it as an online alias for a few years. I got the idea from the name Dianora, a character in a fantasy novel I read called Tigana. I've always liked names that start with 'D'. To me it sort of represents the confidant, epic person I want to be, instead of the shy timid person which I feel most people view me as, and which my real name seems to represent.

Wolf boy was the name given to me by my friends after I had a "bad trip" on LSD. I prefer to think of that trip as a massive catalyst for change and the opening of my closed mind.

It's a nickname that's been with me since I was 7. I've grown to like it after so many years and I've been telling people to call me Carrot. It originated from my real name, Caroline, because it sounds like it.

It's my Starcraft II alias, I started playing about 2 and a half years ago. I'm semi-pro now and get paid for tournaments etc now and then, Just made sense to keep the name, other than that I just like it.

My username is my name, haha I'm so creative.

The first two letters of my first name and the first three of my middle. Jack Brendan. Jabre. The full version is Jabremill. Jack Brendan Miller.

My last name backwards.

I wish mine was more interesting but it's my initials and the year I was born.

It resembles my real name JackCoates45, but the 45 is just random lol.

I called myself Sunfire, because of the character from X-Men, in my first Lucid Dream i managed to fly like him just before i hit the pavement, pretty cool..

A long time ago before minecraft was ruined. My username in it was Joepig. Named after my older bro's guinea pig. I sort of developed a theme about pigs then. GrannyPigms just seemed like a nice one to use.

No idea, but it do not refference to "miss". Why the hell people reffering to that in their minds ? :O

Probably because when you say it aloud, it sounds like "Miss Q."
