Artist Takes Every Drug Known to Man, Draws Self Portraits After Each Use

Interesting.
I can see from his artwork how he's suffering brain damage from those drugs. But I'm surprised to see some of his artwork after taking drugs are just abstract lines. Has drug made his brain simple or his consciousness is no longer there after he took the drug?
That's a good question. I mean obviously the guy can draw, but some drawings were worse than my kids when he was on certain things. I can only hope this was done over a long period of time and not on some daily roulette.
And to add on some of his self-portraits look disturbing to me.
I bet his doctors have trouble treating his psycosis with the pcp/lighter fluid add in with the Seroquel.
Lol the dmt one, half scribbles half geometry.
Yeah there are quite a few 'interesting' self-portraits there; especially the DMT one which is a bit fascinating.
I fancy doing a 'drawing' myself!
However seeing some of the hospital pics on there has brought back some painful memories for me. This includes the past, present and the (possible) future.
I always remember when Dad had been on Morphine after a big Op. where he told us about the bad hallucinations he had experienced, where he said, "I know where the film people get their ideas from now!"
So, you're a doctor right, one who can tell someone is suffering brain damage as a result of taking drugs, just by looking at these drawings? Clearly the drugs have an effect on this brain chemistry, that's what they do...but who are you to make judgements about brain damage? If you really look at some of these drawings, you'd be silly to say that they just "made his brain simple". I like the dmt and shrooms drawings best.
Awesome find btw Auron. I don't even know what some of those drugs are.
He said so after his experiment that "Within weeks I became lethargic and suffered mild brain damage". I looked at his drawings, felt that a few of them emphasised on the distortion of the brain/face and so I made the inference that his brain damage was reflected in his drawings too.
And I didn't mean anything bad when I said his brain became simpler. Since when is "simple" a bad thing? Simple is good, you focus less on the complications of life. I just got the feeling from his drawing that his world became much more straightforward after he took some types of drugs.
Why are you offended? I'm not even anti-drugs.
Oh, I didn't read that. If that's the case, then I wonder how he came to that conclusion? How did he know it wasn't just a side effect from taking the drugs versus something more permanent like brain damage? Question is not directed at you btw, I'm just asking in general.
Also some of these drugs are taken at low (or normal) dosages, and some of them are just, uh antibiotics, and yet the drawings are still really messed up. He should have done more drawings not on drugs so we could compare what his normal style is like imo.
Wow! My favorite is the PCP one.
What he drew while on Bath Salts is the scariest IMO.
I really doubt this. Maybe there is additional information about his history somewhere that would be useful, I'm too lazy to search though.
I had to google bath salts, because I had no idea if this was a slang term or if people actually try to get high from eating bath salts.
Oh, you never heard about the guy down in Miami who ate some dudes face off while on bath salts? According to the medical examiner, he wasn't high off of it...but that was the main story at the time. So much zombie talk when it happened too.
Probably (based on assumption) crazy people have bitten off fingers in the past, but I'd imagine it would be tough to get that first break in the epidermis, and then everything else have to be worked away from that central location. Oh, and lets not forget about being completely out of ones mind. Crazy strength is something to behold.
Dmt...

This one cracked me up.
The Coke one scares me. It almost seems that he drew some with the idea in mind what it should look like due to the drug's stereotypes.
Getting a general idea of what he looks like from all the pictures, he looks to have Down Syndrome or something. So maybe he had some mental disorders to begin with.
Can't really judge a guys medical signs by looking at self portraits he drew. I'm not saying that all artist do drugs, but most of them who have probabaly tried to create art while on their poison of choice. No one ever says "he probably had brain damage" or 'a chromosomal issue' when they see art. Most people look at the art itself and take it in for what it is. Later on when the truth comes out that the person was on drugs when they drew x y and z it's okay. Art is one of the most truely intimate things that a person can create, and when someone comes across not even judging the work, but the artist, it's kind of like spitting on their souls. Just saying.

Saw this before in another thread on dv awhile ago. Looked at all of them before. Very interesting idea.
