I just realized that my current small challenge ends on the 18th of June, and I was going to do a summer-challenge, which would therefore start 3 days after :O Well I did say that I wouldn't be doing this challenge for the entire three months :P I think I'll do 2 summer months, since I didn't finish my last 2month-challenge. I really feel like breaking that 1 month-barrier. I could just lengthen this challenge though. I'll see how I feel about that on the 18th of June :P
Yeah, there has to be a point in abstinence where my mind will be plagued by sexual fantasy thereby preventing me from concentrating on anything else. Though I assume like smoking cigarettes or anything of the like, once the addiction fades and the dopamine reward system becomes normalised, I'll not think heavily sexually despite abstinence.
I don't usually go more than three days.
I would imagine testosterone rises in women as well, but you have to keep in mind that most women masturbate less than most men. :P The chemical difference will not be as significant overall.
But it could be so useful to stack on to our other shenanigans! By not masturbating we could upregulate D2, and for the first half of the month we could deprive ourselves of REM sleep and cut back on meals to further upregulate D2, and then in the second half of the month we could fast and stay totally sleep deprived to cause a massive barrage of phenethylamine and dopamine on our D2 receptors. Just think, we could be insane by the end of the month. :D
:P I think it's just the difference in frequency, personally. Doing anything rewarding multiple times a day is enough to be considered an addiction. You would be considered a cocaine addict if you did it multiple times a day, and you would feel significantly better when you stopped using it. You wouldn't be if you did it two or three times a week, and stopping wouldn't make as big a difference.
Based on that Chinese study, the optimum time to masturbate is every 7 days because that is when the peak, short-term chemical effect occurs.
You could say the 145% increase is nature's way of telling you to get to it. A little assist by mother nature to push you to have sex.
I've no idea how women's minds work, but a man full of testosterone either has to smash shit up, play sport, or just masturbate. If not, he probably didn't have high levels of testosterone.... or he's some sort of disciplined spiritual yogi.
Basically, we're supposed to have sex. If not, then we gotta substitute.
I think you just told me with that. :P
