      Not sure. I'm not an addict to masturbation nor porn, but I've started this challenge, so I guess I'll find out But I think it's worth it. The feeling of repressing something like that is just epic IMO. Hard to describe it, but it almost like holding back from addictions makes you feel better (not really an addiction in this case, more a natural habit that is harder to stop with than certain others)

      I just got into masturbation last year. I did try to control myself because it somehow felt wrong to keep doing it every other day. During the starting period, my mind was so distracted by it that I keep thinking about it for the whole day, rather irritating if you have lots of works to do.

      I try to keep it to once or twice per week. I guess that is normal? But I guess it wouldn't take me too much of an effort to put it off for two weeks.

      I'm not into porn, they disgust me too much. Although I did watch it a couple of times.

      Regarding holding back addictions, I think I tried it on other things and I almost forgot about it completely, I was the one who felt like giving them up in the first place. Haha. But you're right that since this is a natural habit, it is harder to stop, and somehow you can coax yourself back into doing it when you tell yourself it's natural to do so.

      Yeah, for the past period of time I also limited myself to once or twice a week. I think that is kind of normal. And I'm not into porn either, visualization is way better than that.
      If you're not convinced to hold back yet, then know that the longer the pauses between doing it, the better it actually gets So that's enough motivation for most people.

      Well, if the fact that you deem it natural prevent you from abstaining from masturbating, what if you change your understanding to believe that it's not natural? I'm not going to start a debate whether it actually is natural or not, but if you really want to make an attempt at this, you could reason your choice with that the natural thing would be to have sexual intercourse with a partner instead of pleasuring yourself. That's sort of what I do (but still I'm not saying it's completely unnatural).

      And also, I believe I read about a guy who was masturbating only a few times a week and still benefited greatly from abstaining. He was doing porn though, but I don't think fantasising is all that good either.

      I don't have a partner.

      Besides I have no intention to give this a try, just curious about it. I might probably let the abstain come natural to me and let everything die down without even knowing.

      I think a few people might be taking this a little too seriously. Time will tell.

      Well guys, I think I'm going to go ahead and join Spyguy and Solarflare. It interests me as a test of self-control; I want to see what it will actually take to get myself to do this. And if it really does have any of the other supposed benefits, well then all the better. For now I'll say a modest 30 days, but if I really feel like being a pro I'll extend it to 60.

Even though I've abstained for more than my current amount of days (I am officially in day 7, though it is actually day 8 ), I am really feeling the effects this time. Perhaps it's because of my determination to make it, rather than it just being a tryout. It's easier to communicate with girls now. Could be the confidence, but perhaps they have some kind of '6th sense' for it, lol.
      As for girls, here is a tip everyone (it may seem obvious to some, but I'm certain it will help others): don't approach girls as a sex object. Really, don't. They are persons, so appreciate and respect that. For the metaphors: look them in the eyes, not the nipples. They appreciate that. View it from their perspective. What's better: a guy that only wants sex or a nice guy to talk with? And confidence ofcourse. Confidence but not arrogance. You got to show them 'Look at me, I am awesome', but DEFINITELY NOT 'Look at me, I am awesome and I know it'.

      Day 6 was a succes again. It's funny how I keep posting how the previous days while I have almost finished the one in which I type it. Day 7 is almost over at the moment of typing this, lol.

      Anyway, I think anyone can do this, you just have to be motivated. Not like 'I probably can't, but perhaps I should try'. Know that you can do it if you really want because you CAN. And you'll be glad you did it afterwards. Just know that it´s going to be difficult, and may even be like mustnotfap.jpg at a point in time, but you CAN and WILL go through with it no matter what may happen.

      But again, good luck to Supernova who will be joining the challenge

      PS. I wouldn't let the whole idea of masturbation torture you if you do it. It's really not bad at all. What's bad is if you get so into it through constant porn stimulation that your brain begins to mimic the addiction effects that are usually induced by actual substances because it craves those dopamine surges; then there's the inevitable desensitization that comes with this. And on the other end of the spectrum, if you end up putting such a negative connotation on it, repression has its own huge slew of negative effects which can be seen all around our culture today x_x

      Same here, I don't really care how it works if it is just placebo, then so be it. It still rocks!!

      I've started working out a lot too after this, I used to think that I didn't have time for it because of school.. which was of course entirely wrong. Now I haven't been able to do it in several days, so I'm really itching to go to the gym now!
