In relation to the Final Destination scene:

There was a (true) story in Houston, TX, a while back, where a woman was in an elevator, waiting for the doors to close. A medical colleague came and tried to catch the elevator before the doors closed, and got caught by the shoulders. The doors malfunction and the elevator raised with his shoulders trapped. It ended up decapitating him, just above the jaw, and the woman was stuck in the elevator with his severed head for X-number of hours, until they were able to get her out.

Oh my god, fuck elevators. I've been in an elevator in Houston before. *shudder*

NOW IT HAS ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO SOMEONE. I'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO REASON THAT IT CAN'T HAPPEN EVER AGAIN.

Maybe I'll use the stairs for uh, I dunno, forever.
      I hear that....

There'd be nothing you could really do, and the dog would end up squished or being hung, unless there was someone else outside who saw what was happening and took the leash off the dog.
That's such a sad thought! Poor doggy.
