Okay, picture this. Start with one of those big wheels with a bunch of different sections and the arrow that you have to spin so that the section you want and the arrow match up.

Now, the arrow is reality. The number of different sections on the wheel (I use somewhere around 10-15, something not too crazy but definitely more than just a few) is the number of personalities that your mind is shattered into, each one being very defined but separate from each other, and each individual section is a separate disconnected dream-like world to match each personality. Your perspective, however, remains as the arrow (reality). In reality, you have a sense of connection to all of these separate worlds, like you're in a state of strong dissociation and experiencing all of them at once, but they're still in a dreamy way while the main reality feels real. The wheel is constantly spinning, and as it does whichever personality inhabits each section is suddenly pulled into reality. Normally, the separate personalities have no perception of each other, but as they're yanked into this they're suddenly exposed to the feeling of dissociation and connection to each other, totally unexpected, and faced with the reality of what's happening in... well, reality. Then, just as suddenly, they feel themselves fading back as the next personality fades in and is subjected to the same thing, while that personality fades back into dreamy delirium. So, as your perspective is stuck in reality, you're in this constant loop of shifting between these different minds as they're repeatedly pulled into lucidity and connected to this constantly shifting wheel of identities and then suddenly lost back into the cycle again, with that feeling of total surprise, despite a paradoxical background feeling that you already knew this was happening from the connection to the other personalities, and connection to this feeling of insanity, followed by total loss of control, each time with a different main personality, identity, set of memories, etc., just feeling as though it's repeating endlessly.
Now, make it so that in that reality your perspective is in, you're having sex. That's my latest one. Yay, insanity! :content:
