You could of at least lied and said yes, I went to the liquor store, got drunk, then went to H&R Block for no reason. Then i passed out on the floor at H&R Block so one of the employees just dragged me outside. My mom drove by a few minutes later, saw me on the floor, screamed at me to get up. Got impatient so she dragged me by the hair into the car while i was mumbling a few random words unaware of what was happening or where i was.

That would've been more entertaining.

I finally got accepted to my 3rd new college, this is also the same college my mother goes to. In the past I have been doing Digital Media & Animation and now I'm majoring in the Sciences, Biology mainly. I do not start till March though. Also, this is an online school so no more dealing with the physical and mental ills of sitting in a classroom anymore!

OMG I didn't even notice that. That can't be real. The picture was taken at my friends' house, I'll ask them what that was. They were probably playing a joke or something. I HOPE LOL

EDIT: It seems my friends have no knowledge of said alien. I'm going to assume one of them is joshing me. While I'm here, here's another pic of my sweetie.

Something similar happened to a photo my dad took back in the 70's. He was driving through some mountains in CA and took a pic of one mountain that had a cave in it. And there's clearly an alien lurking in the cave. I showed the pic to him decades later when I stumbled upon it and was like "wtf is up with the cave alien?" and he literally had no clue, never noticed it before. I think whoever developed the photos for him was playing a joke on him. Especially since half the roll was devoted to his pot garden, ahem...

Also Vince, there's an Alien in the 2nd photo there as well.

Did some electrophysiology work recently and figured I'd share. We were measuring the mechanosensitivity of the NMDA receptor in case any of you are interested in it.

Pulling the pipettes. We heated them to get the tip down to less than the size of a cell so try and isolate single receptors (extremely small little buggers)

This is what they look like under the microscope. The goal is to get the tip of the pipette as small as possible without sealing it. The large black bit you see is actually a tiny wire used to head up the pipettes to further smooth/shrink the tips

Using the pipettes on cells. The glowing cells are cells which express the receptors (we perform what's called a transfection to basically insert the DNA for these receptors and then let the cells make them "naturally"). You don't want to pick super dim ones since they won't have many receptors on them, but the super bright ones likely have too many. We want one, maybe two.

The end results. The small screen is real time recordings (they move very quickly, on the order of milliseconds) and the two different heights signal open or closed channels/receptors. The large screen is the overall recording. The thick black parts are individual receptors opening and letting ions (electricity) flow into the cell.

My current work isn't quite as "sciency" so to speak, so I don't really have any picture unfortunately. Unless you guys want to see tables of literally millions of numbers
