It's not too often that I contemplate the thought process of a turtle, but it was funny how I could see the way he froze in place when I approached, and flinched his head back into his shell (only slightly), at every little move I made, before cautiously angling himself away from me as if to say "oh, shit. here we go.... I was out for a forum outing yesterday night. First in my life. Fortunately I brought my friend along, otherwise I would feel too awkward to even eat properly. I'm a super introvert in real life and I get scared by big crowds of people that will just temporarily mute me.

Funny you say that - a movie company actually came out and did a survey on our buildings to see if they could use it for a horror movie they were planning to film. They didn't deem it worthy but I still think it's an accomplishment that my family owns something creepy enough to be thought about for a horror movie

And yeah its some sort of rabbit/jack rabbit, loads of them out in the bush

Went on a motorbike trip to the mountains the other day.
Too bad for iPod camera quality, I think I'm gonna go there again solely to take some photos with a good camera.
This was just to clear my head

But had to get some pictures once I got there.

Mt. Donna Buang:

Myrtle Beech ^ These trees were very interesting.
Some of the leaves seemed to be moving by themselves. I'll post a video below.

I went to Muir Woods last Saturday, just north of San Francisco.

This tree was born 1100 years ago.

And in this one you get a sense of scale.

I had to check the Original photo to see what the tag says. According to the tag, the "Tree Falls" in 1930. So, likely not killed, just cut to show the rings.

And that shape on the tree where people are looking up is a burl. It's a collection of tree cells that usually occur in the ground, and can spawn new trees.

I was occupied last night so I never watched the videos but I will soon. I have to go attend to my daughter's itchy leg.
