No the grass was taking over everything so I wanted a cheap and lazy way to stop it. It looks like ass but I think a layer of mulch will do the trick.

I'm not sure, I guess he just used the cardboard to prevent weeds from growing. Wish I'd have done something like that.

And reason for this picture, i just got back into reading my own tarot cards....been so far since February or earlier that i started doing my own instead of paying someone to read it for me...oh the joys when you find out that your own hobbies is worth a hobby...I started around 2004 or 5 then stopped at 2008...so far results are good.
I came up with this card about a guy...i love how cards just spell it out for you in a picture that having dinner with some guy is around the corner Oh ya i have a red dress like that too so ironic lol That's all i got to share just in case people would like to know what my avatar means.

This mushroom is called Berkeley's Polyspore (Bondarzewia berkeleyi). It was about a foot in diameter and almost too tough to eat but I got enough out of the edges. I got so much that I ended up making a powder out of most of it — makes a nice seasoning on eggs.



I also picked a nice plate of Chanterelles. They didn't look the greatest, but tasted awesome.

My rear end is rusty and is leaking fluid. The hell with road salt. How can it rust through when it's full of oil??? WTF?




New U-Joint in the truck.




The old one had broken and missing needle bearings in one cup, and no bearings at all in the other. The spider shaft is quite pitted and discolored after failing. Maybe a few too many diesel burnouts?

USA: OCD-friendly packaging. Although they could have done a little better with the lock washers, at least the screw heads are all oriented in the same direction. lol




China: I don't even know where to start. FAIL!!!




Got some new kick-ass tires on the lawn mower. The old ones wouldn't turn off of a wet leaf. With these, the mower can ride wheelies! ...and tear holes in the yard.

Started breaking ground for my new garden yesterday. Today's mission: remove the little rock I found with the plow.


It's a bit larger than the average pebble.


Some leverage...


...combined with some horsepower...


...and no more rock in the garden.


My metal detector buzzed a couple of times while doing a quick scan before tilling.

New frame made for my speaker 'grill'. I need to shave down the two sides a bit.
