My scientifoid playthings-collection is now proudly featuring a crystal-fabrication set - several actually, my husband foreseeing me wanting a biig one!!
It's Kalium-Aluminium-Sulfat, which falls out as crystal, when in heated water-bath and food-colour. It takes a while and needs re-bathing/heating - but once I have grown something nice - I will follow up:

I wonder, if I can influence the shape a bit - or if I split stuff off maybe and use the cut-off for pepping up/diying jewellery..
It won't be deep red like in the picture - rather a slight pink only - like rose-crystal would be nice...

Today we adopted Gibson ("Gibby")!! He plays, climbs, and gives kisses on the mouth. He's 9 weeks old and was raised in a foster home where he was bottle fed, and he's already used to other cats and dogs. He's gotta get his nuts snipped then we pick him up tomorrow:

One of my two cats on top of my bookshelf, where she has the best view of my entire bedroom. Empty wine bottles in the corner which she didn't knock over thankfully.

Cats, books, alcohol. That about sums up my entire life in a weird way.

TwoShadows and O', I am so, so, SO jealous of the environments you have around you. I'd love to camp and walk in those rocky deserts and ride my bike in those forests.

Simple precipitation, ditch the kit and put table salt in hot water until it doesn't dissolve anymore. Add some food colouring and you've got coloured crystals!

I had my big backpacking trip a couple of weeks ago. My computer has been down, but is finally going again, so I finally have a chance to go through my pictures.

Three friends and I spent 6 days in a beautiful place called Coyote Gulch.

This power cord did not pass my bass test. It was plugged into an amplifier powering my bass cabinets when it decided to fail. Usually, we blow an amplifier or speaker, but this time it was a power cord.

This is my first "maximum" - 180 points - of the whole year! The little red bit is treble 20, which makes it 60 points each.
Red bulls only counts for 50 points, it is harder to hit three there, though. Smaller.
And that after almost 100 140s and zig 120-somethings!! Meaning only two darts in the little red bit.
Last year it was for me, like it usually is for most people - the relation was - say one 180 per about twenty 140s and lots of 120-somethings.
A whole heavy boulder falls from my troubled heart!! I almost thought I was jinxed!
What a day - got my advanced lucid meteor task and then this!!
