Just find a couple of wild Pekin ducks and take their eggs. That's what we did. =p The Pekin ducks laid the eggs on our patio--no nest, and the female didn't sit on them either. The first egg was crushed by something after a day of laying outside, so we saved the second two. We learned that Pekin ducks are notorious for neglecting their eggs until the eggs are ready to hatch.

Sadly, we have no plans of keeping these ducks permanently. We'll be releasing them into a canal near my house once they mature.

XD That's the first thing I thought of too when I heard the name. These ducks are originally from China though, and they were popular in Beijing (Peking) for their meat and eggs. I assume that's where their name comes from.

That Duck is much cuter than on the first picture you posted just after the hatch xD

Yeah, it was pretty ugly. Lil D'Brickashaw looks a lot better, now that it's dry.

D'Brickashaw is a lot less lonely now. Giving it a stuffed animal was my sister's idea, because D'Brickashaw kept peeping frantically when it was alone. Though now that D'Brickashaw has a friend, it's content to snuggle with the stuffed animal instead of us.

That's a really nice blog.

It's amazing how much faster other animals grow up than we humans do. It already knows how to walk! And we take a year or two to learn it. o.o

I was thinking this the other day too, Carrot. Humans are so weak and fragile when they're born, and for much longer than other creatures. It's surprising that humans managed to live in the wild for so long.

I'll pass the compliment along to my mother, I'm sure she'll be thrilled.

If it imprinted on anyone, it would have been my mother or myself. I saw it within minutes of it coming out of the egg, it's butt was still in the shell. But I only looked at it for a moment before getting my mother. I suspect that the duck imprinted on my mom. Now that D'Brickashaw has the monkey, it feels like it loves the monkey more than us. =p It makes my sister and I a little sad.

Awwwww...

Solution: remove the monkey toy, and dress up like a monkey. Duck love all around.

I didn't think that the license plates on the cars will be that visible... but if tinypic won't like it then they will probably delete it anyway...

I don't think that it's about the hoster you use, but more like if you are registered or not... they delete pictures from non-registered people more often... i guess
But honestly, i don't know how it could be bad to show those license plates... I didn't see anyone on here from Hungary other than me and if someone just stumbles on that picture they won't know where it's made ^^

I saw a Lala soft toy at a immigration display center few days ago. They were showing things that they had caught people smuggling in through the borders. Anyway the focus for me is I used to have the exact soft toy when I was young and I loved it!!!

I actually dressed up as LaLa one year for a Halloween party. I think I still have the costume somewhere.


Amazing the ways people find to smuggle drugs. Here we see a lot of news reports about it because of the border we share with Mexico.

It got pitched off my porch in a windstorm with two other plants, and it was the lone survivor. Looks like it may flower this year, which I didn't know aloe ever did.

Ha, it does kind of look like asparagus.

This is an extremely small photograph, but it is of the prairie behind a lake I visit on a regular basis. A lot of people find the prairie's boring, but they will always have a special place in my heart.

And that's my brother Will and sister-in-law Nicole. All I did was call Amelia's name and she looked right at the camera. She was soooo much fun to play with. Never got tired of playing games.
