      UM, you have cool neighbors.

Meeps, I guess you could call it that. My main interest in political philosophy is in finding the best mechanism to ensure liberty for those individuals that want it. It seems to be a trend that the majority of people will gladly follow a strong leader that is trying to take their liberties and so I feel that that relationship should be made explicit.

And if the former, then anything over 3 megapixels actually means nothing given that the typical monitor resolution is 1920x1080/1200, which is about 2.0-2.4 megapixels - so how would it be displayed?

Slightly off-topic, but meh. Please explain, or show that I'm talking nonsense.

I guess I can explain my shit quality pictures to my unsteady hand.
If a photo is taken with a higher resolution, it looks better when it's printed out. Just saying. Although I know most people can't be bothered to print photos any more.

And if you're concerned about shaky hands, consider getting a camera with a good stabiliser. Sony Ericsson handphone camera has been doing me justice by producing clear photos so far so I like it. Or try training your hands by recording 4 min long videos. I went to concerts and such and I was recording the whole song.

So long as your printer has really good DPI - otherwise you'll end up with some massive photo (same resolution), or correct sized photo (lower resolution). Anyway, this all makes sense to me now when I include DPI.

      Yes, I am sad.

Wait, that sounds like a contradiction. A leader that takes liberties >< ensure liberties (?)

Damn, and I don't even have a cellphone. Well actually, I figured out a way to bring my camera yesterday. I just went and bought a rear rack thing. Looks silly, but w/e. Kinda annoying though, because I'm just using my regular camera bag for now so I have to rig it up and crap to hold it down safely. Makes taking the camera out a pain, which kinda defeats the whole purpose (in that, it's such a pain I don't feel like trying to take it out for a casual picture).

I think I'll look into a bag that's supposed to mount off one of these racks... damn things are expensive though.

ANYWAY, I did snap a few shots yesterday. My view during a brief pit stop:

This is how the Austin skyline used to look around 35 years ago. Now the buildings here dwarf the capitol building.

Even that reservoir and the houses along it are similar to homes along Lake Austin, on the west side of the city.

I would probably find Jackson a decent place to visit.

I did that at the Foo Fighters concert a few years ago, but I recorded pretty much the whole damn concert.

When it comes time for ACL in October I will post some pics.

      Haha.

I stopped recording videos or take photos at concert because I want to fully enjoy myself! But I take a couple for memory purposes.

Yeah, I only did it that one time. I figured I'd never be lucky enough to have them play ACL again.

      I love three-day concerts!

I recognize some of those bands, and I recall the Ting-Tings playing here at ACL.

Of course, I'm bad at remembering names.

There's a bunch of bands I don't know, I think a lot of European bands as well.

Sounds interesting. I've read that water is a big deal over there. I'd ask for your thoughts but I'd hate to turn this into ED Do you study political science or something?

I've met a few Belgians (including my roommate), and they all do international politics. Apparently it's like the national sport over there.

      I think I'd have a much harder time studying physics haha! I actually had to take a tutor for physics in high school for a couple of months;

Oh I've been in the extended discusson It's alright but not that much going on most of the times, right? And my political opinion doesn't seem to be well represented, I feel a bit threatened

IndieAnthias: yes, a lot of people study it! I actually came from undergrad studies of history and then switched to IR. A lot of history majors do this, and then we also get people from European studies, anthropology, sinology.. Maybe it's because Belgium is so small we feel the need to learn more about the rest of the world?
