I can't stand the heat either. I hate summers now, and it's only going to get worse. I'm thinking about applying to vet school in colorado and boston, I figure those might be a little cooler? If Alaska had one, I'd apply there! F*ck summer heat and humidity. At least it's not as bad as it was last month...over 100 degrees. So many good animals died from heat stroke :(.
All I can say is that I live in Florida, and it's f'cking miserable.
We've got 97 degrees Fahrenheit here right now. :huh: I'd probably die without the A/C in my car...
It's really hot here in Missouri, it thundestromed a few days ago, which helped but only for a while, it made things just more humid in the longrun. It was over 100 again yesterday, and I think my city broke the record (like a month ago) for the hottest local day in like 100 years....it's crazy, I hate it xD
Expect those records to continue to be broken. This year was the hottest on record, last year was the hottest on record, and the year before last etc. I saw this program on National Geographic about how our planet is going to continue to get hotter and have more severe weather year after year. It was so depressing. (although I have to admit, I enjoy severe weather) :P

The worst part is that I don't think we can stop it even if we put all our effort in to reducing carbon emissions. All the scientific analyses and top scientists opinions I've read recently have pretty much said we've reached the tipping point. Which means it is basically a self sustaining cycle now.
For example because the ocean is becoming too acidic and warm, and there is only like 5-10% of the original fish population, there are huge algae blooms and not enough fish to eat it. So more oxygen is getting consumed by the algae and emitting more carbon dioxide. And the ocean creates like 80% of our oxygen and stores a similar amount of carbon dioxide. Well, it did, anyway....
