I'm guessing that you chose to upload your avatar image files to DV's servers.
In which case you'll need go to the avatar section of your profile and redo it, because they were reset.
Who'd've believed that was the solution to having no avatar? Going to your avatar section and uploading one? Only a technological God, surely.
