Advice, opinions, and suggestions for my lucid dreaming short film

Hey everyone, So I am really into filmmaking and I like to make short films. I'm planning on making a short film during the summer that I will enter into some prestigious film festival ( not sure which ones yet). I plan on having the short film be based on lucid dreaming and shared dreaming. I'm planning on it being most likely a romanctic tragedy having to do with shared dreaming. What I have so far is it starts with a reserved guy, probably around college age, who is able to have lucid dreams. He feels like he has everything because He is very advanced at lucid dreaming, except love, because he is shy and awkward in real life, and his fantasies with dc's arent satisfying enough. He ends up meeting this girl online and ends up showing her lucid dreaming and starts sharing dreams with her. They fall in love and most of the movie is centered around them. Then something happens in the dreamworld (not sure what yet, probably having to do with her not being there anymore or something) and the guy goes to her actual hometown which will probably be in another country, to find her for real. He finds out that she is actually a cancer victim and she ends up dying with him when they finally get to meet in real life. This will probably be around 20-30 minutes long. Im posting this so I can get people's opinons and suggestions/advice. Thanks!

Haha, you should make a twist ending where the girl is actually a guy.

But seriously though, it's good. I don't know what your budget is, or how you're going to show lucid dreaming in all its glory, but I'm guessing the movie's more about the connection of the two people rather then crazy shit happening in dreams.

It is more about the connections but I do plan on showing alot of the glory of lucid dreaming. I will also try to make the lucid dreams as realistic as possible, although I might leave out destabilization because it would just hinder the movie if they kept waking up accidently.

dream fighting. If its possible. But you have to make it kick ass. Not be cheesy. Fighting with magic.

Hey guys, I have written the outline for the film, I got the basics but I need a second opinion on it and some help with some roadblocks I have.
